you’ve been to an event recently in Lagos , or scrolled through TikTok and Instagram long enough you’ll notice a shift in the atmosphere. A few years ago, it would have been difficult to imagine a Latin-infused record getting the same reaction as an Afrobeats anthem in a Nigerian club. Today, that’s no longer the case as the energy has shifted. Walk into a party in Lagos, or Abuja and you’ll hear DJs blending Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall, house music and Latin-inspired sounds within the same set.
With artists like Rema collaborating with global stars on songs like Calm Down which traveled seamlessly across continents, it becomes clear that young audiences are no longer consuming music based on geography. The same thing happened when Tyla introduced a fresh blend of Amapiano and pop which gained global influence. These sounds weren’t boxed into one region, they moved because people connected with it.
Across fashion, music, food and nightlife, young Nigerians are increasingly drawn to experiences that blend cultures, trends, and lifestyles. This new generation is raised on global playlists, and social trends are no longer confined by geography when it comes to discovering new experiences.
Lifestyle and dance creators have built communities around discovering, remixing and localising global trends for Nigerian audiences.
Through The Beer With The Latin Vibe platform, Desperados is tapping into a cultural trend that is already shaping the Gen Z and youth culture.
The platform celebrates the energy that emerges when different influences come together to create something fresh, exciting and unexpected. For Gen Z and young millennials, music is no longer something that simply plays in the background. It is a form of identity, self-expression and connection and Desperados has long positioned itself at the intersection of music, creativity and immersive experiences.
The rise of experience-led culture has transformed the way Gen Z and young millennials engage with brands, entertainment and nightlife. More than ever, people are looking for moments they can actively participate in rather than simply observe.
This shift can be seen across music festivals, live performances, creator-led events and cultural experiences that invite audiences to become part of the story. Desperados, The Favorite Party Beer for Gen Zs and millennials, continues to consistently champion music, innovation and self-expression as a way of bringing people together.

The Niger State Police Command has arrested two women over alleged child trafficking and suspected ritual-related activities, rescuing four children between the ages of four and seven in Suleja, Suleja local government area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspects were apprehended following a credible intelligence-led operation by operatives of the State Intelligence Department on June 3, 2026.
He identified the suspects as Mrs Promise Chukwudi, 68, of Suleja and Mrs Suzanna Onojekwo, 62, of Church Road, Suleja, where one of the rescued children was found.
According to Abiodun, the suspects claimed the children were handed over to them by their parents from Karim-Lamido in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State between November 2025 and February 2026 for adoption.
He explained that Chukwudi also told investigators that she previously operated Precious Promise Nursery, Primary and Orphanage Home in 2022 before resuming operations in November 2025.
She further claimed to be a licensed herbal medical practitioner who provides traditional treatment for ailments.
However, the police said investigations uncovered contradictions in the suspects’ claims after different parents from Abuja, Nasarawa and Benue states came forward to claim the rescued children.
A search of the suspects’ residence reportedly led to the recovery of a shrine, animal skulls, multi-coloured pieces of clothing, bird feathers and other fetish items.
Abiodun said the suspects were transferred to the Police Headquarters in Minna for further investigation, while the children were handed over to the appropriate child rights agency for care as efforts continue to identify their rightful parents.
The police image maker added that the suspects have been charged to court for prosecution.
