Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville and Richards backed Man City to win the Premier League title ahead of the Gunners.

“I don’t think both teams (Arsenal and Man City) will win every game. I think Man City have a massive, massive advantage now,” Neville said.

Vaniti Lagos questions credibility of accuser over fake drinks allegation

Vaniti Lagos has strongly refuted allegations that it served fake or adulterated drinks to customers, describing the claims as false and impossible.

In a statement released on the official Instagram handle of its CEO, Uyi Ogbebor (@sir_uyi), the management said its partnerships with global beverage companies guarantee the authenticity of its products.

“The same applies to all our partnerships with Global Wines (Moët Hennessy) and Pernod Ricard (Martell),” the statement read.

The club dismissed the allegations outright, insisting that its supply chain structure makes such claims untenable, backing its claims with receipts of its dealings with global brands.

“The idea that fake drinks could ever be found at Vaniti is not just false; it is impossible given the structure mentioned above,” it added.

The statement follows a post on TikTok by a man who claimed he visited Lagos from Moscow with four of his friends and suffered stomach aches after visiting the club.

In what appeared to be a campaign against the club, the man accused it of selling fake drinks. However, he did not provide proof of his visit, such as purchase receipts bearing their names or medical reports confirming hospital admission and the cause of the illness. This has raised doubts among many Lagos residents and Nigerians about the authenticity of the allegation.

Vaniti Lagos also questioned the credibility of the individual behind the claims.

“We also note that the individual behind this campaign does not appear to be based in Nigeria. As such, they should provide more circumstantial and sufficient evidence of their visit or partying at Vaniti via receipts of drink purchase, payments of said purchase, or similar proof,” the statement said.

The management further raised concerns about the motives behind the claims.

“We seriously raise very pertinent questions about the true motives and sponsorship behind these allegations and are doing everything within our power to get to the bottom of this,” it stated.

The club also called on customers who were present on the night in question to come forward with any relevant information regarding their own experience the said night.

“We also urge our esteemed customers who were genuinely present that night and consumed drinks at Vaniti on the specified date to come forward if they experienced any issues afterward. This will allow us to resolve this matter properly and transparently.”

Meanwhile Sir Uyi in an Instagram post wrote,” Some of these people don’t really know me. I will write a book one day. Some think I’m just one small boy that hammered money and came to Lagos to do business. Una go learn new things very soon.”

In another post, Uyi said he will no longer remain quiet in the face of attacks, saying he will now come all out for those after him.

He wrote, “A book is coming, my story. my truth. My evidence. Every deal. Every betrayal. every lesson. Names. Dates. Receipts. Everyone who has walked through my life in business should get ready. I have kept quiet long enough. Coming soon,” Uyi wrote.

Etim Ekpo Esin: How Tantita secured 20,000 square kilometres of Niger Delta, recovered millions

    By Dr. Etim Ekpo Esin

For decades, crude oil theft in Nigeria’s Niger Delta operated in the shadows, complex, deeply entrenched, and devastating in both economic and environmental terms. What was once dismissed as petty pilfering evolved into a vast and highly organized enterprise, draining the nation of billions in revenue while leaving fragile ecosystems severely damaged.

    Today, that narrative is shifting.
At the centre of this turnaround is Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, TSSNL, a private firm mandated to protect some of Nigeria’s most critical oil and gas infrastructure. Its operations, spanning over 20,000 square kilometres and covering 2,366 kilometres of pipelines, underscore both the scale of the crisis and the growing success in confronting it.

To fully grasp the enormity of the challenge is to understand the Niger Delta itself. It is a vast and unforgiving terrain of creeks, mangroves, swamps and forests, stretching across roughly 70,000 square kilometres. Within this expanse lie thousands of kilometres of pipelines and flow lines, alongside nearly 4,000 wellheads, many of them abandoned and exposed to exploitation.

It is within this difficult environment that Tantita has waged an unconventional war.
Early operations uncovered a level of criminal sophistication that stunned even seasoned observers. In Rivers State, operatives detected an illegal underground connection welded directly onto a major export pipeline. Crude oil was siphoned and channelled through narrow canals into concealed storage facilities located kilometres away. In other areas, illicit markets thrived openly, where stolen crude and condensate were sold in measured quantities and transported in improvised containers.
The scale was audacious. The coordination, even more alarming.

However, the most decisive breakthrough came not at the point of extraction, but at the point of export. For years, stolen crude moved through a network of hidden jetties and secret waterways before reaching offshore vessels waiting to purchase Nigeria’s oil at discounted rates. By aggressively targeting these evacuation routes, Tantita has effectively dismantled the backbone of the oil theft economy.

Marine patrols now intercept vessels built specifically for smuggling operations. Illegal loading points are dismantled with precision. Large volumes of crude meant for offshore shipment are seized. By cutting off these exit channels, the profitability of oil theft has been severely undermined.
Technology has been central to this success.

Through the deployment of drones equipped with infrared capabilities, developed in collaboration with global partners such as Textron and Chinese manufacturers like Yangda, Tantita has expanded its surveillance reach into previously inaccessible locations. Illegal refineries are now detected at night, movements are tracked in real time, and enforcement actions are executed with speed and accuracy.

This fusion of intelligence and enforcement is delivering measurable results. Nigeria’s oil production, which dropped to 972,394 barrels per day in August 2022, has surged to 1.84 million barrels per day as of April 2026. This increase of more than 660,000 barrels daily represents tens of millions of dollars in recovered revenue every single day.
Beyond production gains, accountability is taking root. Hundreds of arrests have been recorded, with multiple cases filed and convictions secured across jurisdictions. The signal is unmistakable, oil theft is no longer a low risk venture.

There are also quieter but equally significant gains. Enhanced surveillance and better coordination have reduced operational risks, with casualties now at minimal levels. In a region historically defined by danger, this marks a critical shift.
Yet, the battle is far from over. Criminal networks continue to evolve, deploying new tactics to evade detection, including disguising theft as legitimate cleanup operations and concealing crude within conventional transport systems.
What Tantita’s intervention has proven, however, is that the tide can be turned. With the right mix of strategy, technology and political will, a crisis once considered intractable can be contained and even reversed.

Ultimately, Nigeria’s oil theft war is not just about securing pipelines. It is about safeguarding national wealth. Sustaining these gains will demand constant vigilance, continuous innovation and an unwavering commitment to protecting the backbone of the nation’s economy.

New APC executives emerge in Adamawa through consensus

New executives in the Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) have emerged at the weekend as it concluded its state congress through consensus.

Ambassador Baba Gana Ajimi, chairman of the state congress, conducted the congress at the Mahmud Ribadu Square and called for the dissolution of the former state executive council of the party.

Kate Raymond Mamunu, Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly and member representing Demsa State Constituency, moved the motion for the dissolution of the state exco, and was seconded by the chairman of Toungo Local Government Area, Suleiman Ahmed Gangkuba, which brought to an end the tenure of the last exco.

For the state congress to be on consensus, Senator Grace Bent moved the motion according to the party’s constitution, and former Deputy Speaker and member representing Guyuk State Constituency in the State Assembly, Hon. Sunday Peter, seconded the motion for consensus.

Ajimi, the chairman of the congress committee, asked the delegates through a voice vote to confirm the election of the state party executives through consensus.

As a result, Ajimi announced Hamza Bello Madagali as the state chairman, Dr. Raymond Chindama as vice chairman, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu as secretary, Bature Moses as assistant secretary, Victor Dogo as publicity secretary, and Dedan Raymond as youth leader, among others.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, speaking at the event, explained that the state has achieved full political integration into the ruling APC and is set for victory come 2027, stressing that what happened in the state was nothing but a political evolution, with the APC having successfully transitioned from alignment to what he called a “full fusion” of political structures across all levels.

He noted that while all stakeholders may not have achieved their individual expectations, “no one is a loser” in the process, as political integration requires sacrifice and compromise.

According to the governor, the congresses in the state reflected the political maturity of stakeholders and demonstrated a shared commitment to building a stronger and more competitive party structure in the state, with the smooth execution of ward, local government, and state congresses.

A political platform tagged “Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement (ARH226M),” according to the governor, has been established, saying that it is a grassroots mobilisation structure covering all 226 wards of the state.

  • 2027: Any Obi-North Ticket Will Defeat Tinubu – Udenta

2027: Any Obi-North Ticket Will Defeat Tinubu – Udenta

A former presidential adviser and founding National Secretary of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD), Prof. Udenta Udenta, has said President Bola Tinubu is vulnerable ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that any opposition ticket pairing Labour Party’s Peter Obi with a northern candidate would defeat the incumbent.

Udenta made the assertion during an interview on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme, where he delivered a sweeping critique of the Tinubu administration, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and Nigeria’s current socio-economic conditions.

According to him, Nigerians are worse off today than they were under former President Muhammadu Buhari, arguing that the APC lacks ideological grounding and has failed to translate governance into improved living conditions.

“There’s something in law we call the fruition of time – seasons come and seasons go,” he said. “The Alliance for Democracy was an ideological platform with clear vision and philosophical depth. APC is just a special purpose vehicle. It’s a contraption. It has no focus, no ideological bearing, no philosophical reach.”

He added that the APC “was put together to flush PDP out of power in 2015, and they succeeded in that miraculous way. But since then, they have refused to govern,” Udenta stated. “The eight years of the Buhari presidency have been considered by many as a disaster in terms of corruption, nepotism, insecurity, and aloofness.”

Assessing Tinubu’s administration, Udenta argued that, “The failures of the Buhari presidency are the failures of the Bola Tinubu presidency. The problem is that the Tinubu presidency has intensified and accelerated them to a higher degree.”

He maintained that the 2027 election would be decided not by political rhetoric but by the lived realities of Nigerians. “Nigerians are not going to listen to grandstanding. They will ask themselves: how were we on May 29, 2023, and how are we today? The answer will be resounding – we are worse off today,” he said.

Udenta dismissed government claims of economic progress, describing official statistics as disconnected from everyday realities.

“Abstract numbers on macroeconomic stability are meaningless to the people. What matters is the living conditions. Are Nigerians earning more? Are prices lower? Can they afford food, rent, and medicine? The reality is that people are bitterly hungry,” he said.

On security and economic reforms, he rejected calls to give the administration more time, insisting that its record so far is insufficient.

“That record is very shabby, to say the least. It cannot win an election,” he declared.

The political analyst also accused the government of undermining opposition parties and manipulating the political space ahead of 2027.

“If you crunch the numbers, you will see that the government is running scared. If it wasn’t, we would not have the kind of INEC we have today. The system is being choked to weaken the opposition,” he alleged.

Despite acknowledging internal crises within opposition parties, Udenta expressed confidence that they would regroup before the elections.

“Politicians sometimes move like ghosts—they regroup and find a home. Between now and the deadlines, they will find a secure platform. Once that happens, they will have enough time to rebuild and campaign,” he said.

He further argued that the perceived strength of the APC, with its control of multiple states and political structures, does not guarantee victory.

“If you have all the governors, senators, and ministers, why are you running scared? The government is running scared because 2027 will be about its record,” he added.

On possible opposition strategies, Udenta stressed the importance of zoning and coalition-building, pointing to Peter Obi as a central figure in the South.

“In the South, what is visible and manifest is Peter Obi,” he said. “The choice of a northern candidate is for the opposition to decide—whether it is Kwankwaso or others.”

He predicted, “Any pairing today of a Peter Obi in the South and anybody in the North would defeat Tinubu in 2027.”
