Kano: Ganduje’s eldest son joins NDC, picks Reps form’

Abdulaziz Umar Ganduje, the eldest son of the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has picked a nomination form to run for the House of Representatives seat under the National Democratic Congress, NDC.

Abdulaziz will be running for the House of Representatives seat of Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency in the state.

Ganduje’s son has been a faithful supporter and dedicated member of the Kwankwasiyya political movement for a long time, even though his father has played an important role in the APC throughout the years.

A viral video showed him talking with Kwankwaso right after getting the form.

In the video, he is said to have informed the former Kano governor about his political goals and his preparation for the upcoming general election.

This development marks another significant moment in the ongoing rivalry between Ganduje and Kwankwaso.

These two influential leaders had a strong partnership in Kano politics, but their political relationship reportedly fell apart years ago.

Abdulaziz has stayed away from his father’s political group for many years and has always associated himself with the Kwankwasiyya movement instead.

His political views became more noticeable after he got into a heated disagreement with his mother, Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje, and reported her to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over a supposed broken agreement.

Abdulaziz wants to run for the same seat that his brother, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, tried to win in 2023 as a candidate for the APC.

Umar lost that election to a candidate from the NNPP, even though their father was the governor at that time and had political influence.

APC Presidential Primaries: Oyebaji attributes Tinubu’s emergence to party’s internal democracy

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has commended the massive turnout of members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, across 177 wards in the state to return the party’s presidential ticket to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a resounding vote of confidence in the President’s leadership and a strong affirmation of the party’s unity and internal democracy.

The Governor, who arrived at his ward 6, Ikogosi-Ekiti, at about 10:35 am and participated in the presidential affirmation exercise, described the process as peaceful, orderly and a true reflection of the party’s commitment to deepening internal democracy across all levels.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Governor Oyebanji said the enthusiasm displayed by party members was a clear indication that party members were united in purpose and confident in the leadership direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that the process was devoid of any rancour.

Describing the exercise as historic, the Governor maintained that it was the first time all members of the party were given the opportunity to directly and actively participate in the selection of the party’s presidential flag bearer.

While commending the APC for deepening internal democracy and providing a platform for every member to participate in the decision-making process, the Governor described the exercise as transparent and inclusive.

Governor Oyebanji said, “You can see the enthusiasm here among our party members to exercise their democratic right. This speaks to internal democracy in the APC. Since we started the primaries some weeks ago, people have come out to vote for candidates of their choice.

“Today is different and historic because this will be the first time that members of the party, will have a say in who becomes the presidential candidate of the party and here in our ward in Ikogosi, we have 624 registered party members, 620 votes in favor of President Tinubu to continue as the flag bearer of the party and from the news I have received across the state, it has been a peaceful exercise.

“I must commend APC for deepening internal democracy and offering a platform for every member of the party to have a say in who becomes the presidential flagbearer of the party”

Expressing confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will record a landslide victory in the general elections, Governor Oyebanji said the overwhelming support demonstrated during the presidential primaries across the state and other parts of the country was a clear indication that the President enjoys wide acceptance and strong backing from party members and the electorates.

“If performance is a yardstick in electoral success, then there is nothing to fear about the victory and the emergence of APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Jan 2027 presidential election”, Oyebanji added.

‘Sleeping with another man’s wife attracts curses’ – Shan George on Chike, Edoho saga

Popular Nigerian actress, Shan George, has claimed that having sexual intercourse with a married woman attracts curses.

The actress made this claim in a lengthy post shared on her Facebook page at the weekend while reacting to the ongoing controversy about Frank Edoho’s messy marital crisis with wife, Sandra Edoho.

DAILY POST reports that Frank, a famous Nigerian media personality, had over a week ago accused Sandra of having extramarital affairs with singer Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, popularly known by his stage name, Chike.

Defending herself, Sandra also accused Frank of cheating on her with some Nigerian celebrities.

While Chike is yet to deny or address the allegation, many celebrities have continued to condemn the singer’s act after Frank shared his alleged evidence.

Condemning the incident, Shan George told Chike to apologise to Frank, noting that “sleeping with another man’s wife is a TUFIAKWA that carries generational curses.”

Advising couples on how to settle disputes amicably, she wrote, “Any form of ‘Do me I do you’ must be avoided at such times, until you resolve the issues. As for the ladies, please, if the marriage taya you, after trying all your best, please leave the marriage, doing asewo inside marriage is a sacrilege.
