Popular social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse,, popularly known as Verydarkman, VDM on Wednesday night led a mass protest in Abuja over the deteriorating security crisis across the country.

VDM, who arrived in Nigeria from China at about 4:pm on Wednesday, led the Ratel Movement to the Nigerian Air Force Base in Abuja, where they protested against the worsening security situation in Nigeria.

In a video clip going viral on social media, the protesters could be heard chanting “Tinubu must go, APC must go, bandits must go, terrorists must go” while heading to the Air Force Base.

VDM, a staunch critic of the President Bola Tinubu administration has been vocal on the recent surge in kidnapping and killing by the bloodthirsty assailants in many parts of the country.

While in China, VDM declared the Tinubu government incompetent, urging Nigerians to sack the president and the All Progressives Congress, APC via the 2027 presidential elections.

The activist had raised the alarm, alleging a plot by authorities to get him apprehended upon arrival in Nigeria, a claim that created tension amongst his supporters.

Several members of the Ratel Movement were gathered at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, before his arrival.

22 Nations Accuse Iran Of Using Gangs For Killings Abroad

Twenty-two countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and several major European nations, have jointly condemned Iran for allegedly using criminal gangs to carry out killings, kidnappings and harassment campaigns targeting dissidents, journalists and Jewish communities abroad.

In a joint statement, the countries denounced what they described as “lethal plotting” and other “malign actions” by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its affiliated groups, accusing Iranian security services of increasingly collaborating with international criminal organisations to target journalists, dissidents, Jewish citizens, and current and former officials across Europe and North America.

The governments also raised concern over a recent wave of attacks in Europe targeting Jewish communities, Iranian journalists and US interests, claimed by a previously unknown group calling itself Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI), which the statement says operates through intermediaries linked to wider networks.

HAYI, whose name translates as The Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right, was not known before the attacks began.

The statement described it as “deplorable” that the IRGC allegedly uses international and local criminal gangs to conduct operations, citing incidents in Sweden, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.

It further alleged that Iran has leveraged organised criminal groups, including Foxtrot, Hell’s Angels and Rumba, to carry out attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets across Europe.

In Sweden, an unexploded grenade was discovered at the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm. Swedish and Israeli intelligence later linked the attack to the Foxtrot gang, allegedly acting on Iran’s instructions.

Britain’s domestic intelligence service MI5 has also warned of a growing Iranian threat, saying it disrupted more than 20 potentially lethal Iran-linked plots in the UK between January and October 2025.

The Iranian embassy in London rejected the allegations, saying they “lack credible evidence” and appear to serve “narrow political agendas.”

The statement was signed by the United States, the United Kingdom, Albania, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal and Sweden.

It added that “attempts to kill, kidnap, harass, intimidate, or otherwise attack people on our soil undermine national sovereignty and international norms,” stressing that such actions must stop immediately.

The joint condemnation comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Western nations, with both Iran and the United States reportedly exchanging strikes for a second consecutive day on Wednesday, further straining an already fragile ceasefire reached in April.

‘We are not thieves – NNPC replies Oshiomole, gives clarifications

The former Chief Financial Officer, CFO, of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC, Umar Ajiya, says the company and its workers are not thieves.

Ajiya made this remark during a session by the Senate Public Accounts Committee investigating alleged misappropriation of funds.

His remark followed the allegation by a lawmaker representing the Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, who declared the NNPCL a house of thieves.

He alleged that N2.9 billion was used for the incorporation and rebranding of the company, and explicitly denied that N5.8 billion was spent on the registration process itself.

“We are not thieves. N2.9 billion was used to register NNPC, not N5.8 billion. I have been presenting and defending the company’s reports to this committee over the last five or six years.

“I need to give assurance to Mr Chairman and distinguished Senators present here today, and in fact all Nigerians, that there is no money missing. Let me make it very clear that if money was actually missing in NNPC during our period, we would not have had the courage to publish the audited accounts in the past 44 years.

“The accounts were prepared and never kept hidden from the public, and even sometimes with the Auditor-General of the Federation. So we made it a duty upon us not only to give to the Auditor-General, but also to put it on our website, let Nigerians criticise and scrutinise to get out of the opaqueness and that lack of trust that the public had on NNPC,” he said.

  • Ex-Abia APGA Governorship Candidate Defects To LP

Ex-Abia APGA Governorship Candidate Defects To LP

The Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has welcomed former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Reagan Ufomba, into the Labour Party, describing his decision to join the party as a significant development for both the party and the state’s ongoing transformation efforts.

Ufomba, a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), formally defected to the Labour Party on Wednesday at a gathering held at the Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Secretariat in Okpuala Ngwa. He also announced the dissolution of his political movement, the Change Abia Organisation, into the Labour Party.

Speaking at the event, Otti said the Labour Party remains a platform that offers equal opportunities to all members regardless of when they joined.

“One thing that distinguishes the Labour Party is that everybody is treated equally. There is no segregation between old and new members.

“Once you become a member, you enjoy the same rights and privileges as every other person in the party,” the governor said.

He commended Ufomba for what he described as a commitment to the progress of Abia State and noted that the former APGA governorship candidate had consistently shown support for initiatives aimed at repositioning the state.

According to Otti, the decision by Ufomba and his supporters to join the Labour Party reflects growing confidence in the administration’s policies and developmental strides.

The governor also reiterated his administration’s resolve to deliver critical infrastructure projects across the state, including the proposed airport project at Nsulu.

He assured residents that efforts were progressing steadily and revealed that contracts for access roads connecting the airport to different parts of the state would soon be awarded.

“The airport project is no longer a dream. In the near future, Abians will be able to depart from and arrive in their own state through the Nsulu Airport,” he said.

Reflecting on the administration’s journey so far, Otti explained that the first phase of governance was dedicated to stabilising key sectors and addressing long-standing challenges inherited from previous administrations.

“Before laying a solid foundation, you must first clear away the weak structures. We had to resolve issues such as unpaid salaries, pensions and other obligations before embarking on the larger task of rebuilding the state,” he stated.

He assured Ufomba and members of his political structure that they would be fully integrated into the Labour Party and enjoy the same opportunities available to every member.

In his remarks, Ufomba described his move to the Labour Party as a carefully considered decision inspired by the visible changes taking place across Abia State.

He thanked Governor Otti, party leaders and members for the warm reception and pledged to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the party and the development of the state.

The former governorship candidate disclosed that the Change Abia Organisation, which has now been absorbed into the Labour Party, comprises 197 affiliate groups operating across the state.

He explained that the organisation was founded on the principles of good governance, accountability and sustainable development, adding that its members decided to align with the Labour Party because of its people-centred approach to governance.

“We have chosen to identify with a movement that is committed to improving the lives of the people and delivering measurable results,” Ufomba said.

Hon. Collins Iheonunekwu, the member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, described Ufomba’s defection as a major boost for the Labour Party, attributing the party’s growing popularity to the performance of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.

“The government has proven that good governance does not require magic but commitment and visionary leadership,” he said.

Iheonunekwu expressed confidence that Ufomba’s entry into the party would further strengthen the Labour Party ahead of future elections.

Also speaking, the member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu, Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hon. Matthew Ekwuribe, and the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, Hon. Innocent Uruakpa, described Ufomba’s defection as a welcome development.

They credited the growing support for the Labour Party across the state to the performance of the Otti administration, noting that residents were increasingly identifying with the party because of its governance style and development-oriented policies.

The event drew a large crowd of government officials, party faithful, traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders and supporters from different parts of the state who gathered to witness Ufomba’s formal entry into the Labour Party.

  • NNPC, Security Agencies Uncover Fresh Pipeline Vandalism Site In Abuja

NNPC, Security Agencies Uncover Fresh Pipeline Vandalism Site In Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) through the Industry Wide Security Architecture (IWSA) and Nigerian Pipelines & Storage Company (NPSC) in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Special Prosecution Team (SPT), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, the Nigerian Army and other security stakeholders, conducted a joint inspection of a vandalized section of the NPSC crude oil pipeline at Pai Community in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, Abuja.

The high-level inspection was undertaken to assess the extent of damage to critical national asset, advance ongoing investigations, and reinforce coordinated efforts to combat economic sabotage and safeguard Nigeria’s strategic energy infrastructure.

The visit followed the arrest of three suspected pipeline vandals in the Piri and Pai communities through a joint operation involving the ONSA Special Prosecution Team, the FCT Police Command, and the NNPC Ltd’s Industry-Wide Security Architecture (IWSA).

NPSC, a subsidiary of NNPC Ltd, owns more than 5,000 km of crude oil and petroleum products pipeline network. Pipeline theft across NPSC’s network has been on the increase since 2024.

Well-equipped criminals disguising as “NNPC/Federal Government Taskforce for Recovery of Abandoned Pipelines” connive with locals to dig out and steal those pipelines.

In 2025, a total of 19 cases were reported with about 9km pipeline section stolen along Enugu-Makurdi-Yola and between Piri & Izom along Warri – Kaduna pipeline corridors.

So far in 2026, five cases were reported at Piri-Kwali & Gwagwalada, along Warri-Kaduna crude oil pipeline segment and at Badanga, along Jos-Gombe pipeline corridor.

Speaking during the visit, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, represented by the Chief Interface Officer, NNPC Ltd., Dahiru Sani-Gwarzo, described the arrests as an important step in a broader effort to dismantle the criminal networks responsible for attacks on the nation’s oil and gas infrastructure.

“The industry-wide security architecture has been actively pursuing criminal elements involved in the sabotage of our energy infrastructure. Those apprehended are only a small part of a larger network. Our focus remains on identifying and bringing to justice the masterminds and sponsors behind these criminal activities.

” Beyond the significant economic losses they cause, such acts undermine national development, energy security and investor confidence. We will continue to work closely with our security partners to ensure these crimes are decisively addressed,” he said.

Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, stated that the operation demonstrated the resolve of security agencies to protect critical national infrastructure and dismantle criminal syndicates involved in pipeline vandalism.

He disclosed that the suspects were apprehended following intensive intelligence gathering, surveillance operations and targeted patrols after reports of interference with sections of the pipeline.

According to him, investigations have already generated valuable leads regarding the sponsors and receivers of the vandalized materials, adding that all individuals connected to the crime would be identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Also speaking, the Director of Energy Security at ONSA, Mr. Goodluck Ebele, called on Nigerians to support security agencies with timely and credible information that could assist in preventing pipeline vandalism and other acts of economic sabotage.

He emphasized that public vigilance and cooperation remain critical to the protection of national assets and strengthening of Nigeria’s energy security.
Representing the Nigerian Army, Lt. Col. J.O. Ajongbo reaffirmed the military’s commitment to working with NNPC Ltd. and other security agencies to safeguard oil and gas infrastructure across the country.

Similarly, Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Hon. Sesi Whingan, pledged continued legislative support to strengthen deterrence against pipeline vandalism through enhanced legal and regulatory measures.

  • ISWAP Bomb Expert, Commander Surrender To Troops In Yobe

ISWAP Bomb Expert, Commander Surrender To Troops In Yobe

The surrender of two suspected senior members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) to troops in Yobe State has raised cautious optimism among security analysts and community advocates, who say defections of such technical seniority could meaningfully reduce the threat of car bomb attacks that have ravaged civilian populations across the North-East for over a decade.

The suspects — identified as Ismail Mohammed and Abu Umar — surrendered to troops of the 159 Battalion in Geidam on June 8, military sources told The Whistler. Abu Umar is described as a specialist in the construction and deployment of Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs), the car bombs that have been among the deadliest weapons deployed against markets, mosques, military installations, and displaced persons’ camps across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states.

The second suspect, Ismail Mohammed, is said to be linked to ISWAP commanders operating along the Baa Shuwa axis within the Timbuktu Triangle — a stretch of territory spanning parts of Nigeria, Niger, and Chad that has functioned as a logistical and operational corridor for insurgent groups.

For communities that have borne the brunt of VBIED attacks — many of which have killed dozens of civilians in single incidents — the capture of a technical expert of Abu Umar’s reported profile carries particular significance. Security analysts note that VBIED specialists occupy rare and critical roles within terrorist organisations, with their expertise enabling mass-casualty attacks that are difficult to defend against and psychologically corrosive to civilian morale and economic activity.

Beyond immediate tactical value, intelligence officials say the surrender could unlock critical operational details — including the location of bomb-making facilities, the supply chains used to procure materials, and the network of couriers and financiers that sustain insurgent logistics. Such information, if acted upon swiftly, could disrupt attack planning cycles before they mature.

The development also underscores a quietly significant dimension of Operation Hadin Kai’s counter-insurgency strategy: alongside conventional military operations, sustained pressure has been applied to create conditions under which defection becomes a viable option for mid- and senior-level operatives. Whether those conditions include credible amnesty pathways, family safety guarantees, or simply the attrition of morale within ISWAP ranks remains a subject of scrutiny for policy advocates who argue that military pressure alone cannot resolve the insurgency.

The North-East’s civilian population, millions of whom remain displaced or living in proximity to active conflict zones after fifteen years of insurgency, will be watching whether intelligence gathered from the two suspects translates into tangible reductions in bomb attacks — or whether it remains one data point in a long, grinding campaign.

Operation Hadin Kai did not provide further details on the ongoing investigation or the disposition of the suspects.

  • Three Indian Sailors Killed In U.S. Strike On Oil Tanker

Three Indian Sailors Killed In U.S. Strike On Oil Tanker

Three Indian sailors have been killed after the United States military struck an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman, in an incident that has drawn a sharp diplomatic response from New Delhi.

India’s Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal confirmed the deaths on Thursday, calling the incident “deeply unfortunate” and saying the bodies of the three men would be brought back to India soon.

The Indian government had earlier summoned the deputy head of the U.S. mission in Delhi following the strike.

The Palau-flagged MT Settebello came under attack on Wednesday after the U.S. Central Command accused the vessel of violating an American blockade by attempting to transport oil from Iran.

There were 24 Indian crewmen on board, of whom 21 were rescued and three reported missing. The three missing sailors have since been confirmed dead.

In a post on X, CENTCOM said an aircraft fired “precision munitions” into the engine room of the tanker “after the crew repeatedly failed” to follow directions from American forces.

The incident is the second attack on a vessel carrying Indian crew this week.

On Monday, U.S. forces struck the Marivex, also a Palau-flagged oil tanker with an Indian crew, in the Gulf of Oman after it similarly failed to comply with US instructions.

All 24 crew members on that vessel were rescued by the Omani military.

Manoj Yadav, general secretary of the Forward Seamen’s Union of India, said he “refused to believe” that the U.S. lacked information regarding the nationalities of the people on board the ships.

“If the ships failed to heed their instructions, detaining them was a viable alternative,” he said.

The Indian government has maintained that “targeting of commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure in the region must end.”

The U.S. military initiated the blockade on 13 April after Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 20 per cent of the world’s oil and gas supplies are transported.

U.S. forces have disabled eight vessels and redirected 134 others since the blockade began, according to CENTCOM.

Meanwhile, tensions between Iran and the U.S. show no sign of easing, with both countries exchanging strikes for a second consecutive day, putting further strain on a fragile ceasefire reached in April.

  • Wolves Sack Manager After Relegation

    Wolves Sack Manager After Relegation

Wolves have reportedly sacked manager Rob Edwards with highly-rated Portuguese coach Cesar Peixoto set to replace him.

The sacking comes after plenty of rumours online that Wolves were keen on hiring Peixoto to lead a rebuild after relegation from the Premier League.

Edwards joined Wolves in November 2025 in an attempt to avoid what looked like certain relegation and, despite an improvement in performances, the club returned to the Championship for the first time in eight years.

His sacking still remains a surprise following the arrivals of new signings Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez – as the English player specifically mentioned Edwards and his qualities in his media comments after joining.

It has also been reported that the Welsh manager has been heavily involved in planning the upcoming campaign and was key to bringing in both new signings.

“I had a good chat with the manager, and what struck me first was how passionate he was for helping the club move forward to get out of the Championship next season,” Trippier said.

“You just have a feeling straight away and I felt that chemistry straight away with the manager.”

Peixoto is said to be the man coming in to replace Edwards after guiding Portuguese club Gil Vicente to a sixth-placed finish in the Primeira Liga.

  • Infinix Launches HOT 70 Series with Industry-First 12-Colorway Dynamic Shine Design

Infinix Launches HOT 70 Series with Industry-First 12-Colorway Dynamic Shine Design

HOT 70 Series debuts with an industry-first lineup of 12 trend-forward colorways under Infinix’s all-new Dynamic Shine Design. It’s the most fashion-forward HOT release to date, designed for the next generation of young users worldwide

In a smartphone market where devices increasingly look and feel the same, Infinix is taking a different approach. Today, the brand launched the new HOT 70, a lineup designed around a simple idea: smartphones should express personality, not just performance.

Built for a generation that treats smartphones as part of personal style and everyday identity, the HOT 70 Series introduces an industry-first lineup of 12 colorways under Infinix’s all-new Dynamic Shine Design aesthetic. More than a hardware refresh, it represents the brand’s most fashion-forward and self-expressive HOT lineup to date.

Anchored in “Colorful, Versatile, Fun” proposition, HOT 70 brings together expressive design, One-Tap AI, and everyday durability into a unified experience designed to stand out, keep up, and last. From color-shifting finishes and light-reactive textures to instant AI actions and real-world resilience, HOT 70 reflects how Today’s users move fluidly between self-expression, productivity, and everyday living. Ever-changing, ever-shining — HOT 70 is designed for a generation that never stands still.

Stand Out Instantly with Dynamic Shine Design

Infinix HOT 70 introduces a refreshed design with six colorways, giving users a wider range of options to express their personal style. Slim and light, the device features a Baby-Smooth coating that feels soft to the touch and resists fingerprints over time, keeping it clean and presentable through long days. At 7.49mm thin and 195g light, the phone sits comfortably in the hand and slips easily into any pocket or bag.

Headlining the lineup is the Thermo Orange edition, with a temperature-responsive back cover featuring Dual-way Thermo Sensing Skin. The technology sets a class-leading benchmark for design innovation in its segment. The bistable thermochromic finish shifts orange tones with temperature: below 0°C, the back panel deepens to a saturated Deep Orange; at around 65°C, it lightens to a softer Light Orange. Most smartphones Today look fairly similar, but the Thermo Orange edition goes the other way, giving users a way to personalize the device itself. Pairing the surface with custom stamps or molds creates semi-permanent patterns; users can imprint a name, a favorite symbol, or any design they choose. The back of the phone effectively becomes a personal canvas, and more often than not, a conversation starter.

For users who prefer a more fashion-led daily look, the Quiet Violet and Green Texture editions feature back panels rendered in the Lumina Flare Dynamic Flame Texture. Flowing, flame-like microstructures catch and refract light as the phone is tilted, producing shifting patterns of light and shadow with a sense of depth and motion. Quiet Violet draws from the calm depth of dusk-to-dawn skies; Green Texture echoes the freshness of layered leaf veins. Each carries its own distinct character. Like a well-chosen accessory, the two editions are designed to be the finishing touch to an everyday look, turning the phone into a subtle yet expressive style detail that complements a tailored outfit, a weekend fit, or an evening-out statement.

Completing both editions (Quiet Violet and Green Texture) is the Crystal Mood Island camera deco, a refined craftsmanship detail rarely seen in this segment, where camera modules often feel like a purely functional afterthought. Its faceted ring refracts iridescent reflections from different angles, turning a typically overlooked area into a playful design signature that helps HOT 70 stand out in daily moments.

One-Tap AI That Keeps Up With Every Mode

Infinix HOT 70 introduces a dedicated One-Tap AI Button, a physical shortcut placed within natural thumb reach and easy to press whether the device is in hand or sitting on a desk. Instead of opening apps and digging through menus to access AI features, users can trigger what they need with a single tap. The result is one of the most accessible AI experiences in the segment, with every interaction starting in seconds.

A short press launches One-Tap AI FlashMemo¹. For the first time on a HOT device, intent recognition is built directly into the capture experience: the phone not only saves what’s on screen, but it also interprets what users intend to do with it. A flight time spotted in a chat becomes a calendar event. A business card on the screen turns into a saved contact. A restaurant email address on screen jumps straight to a Gmail compose window with the recipient already filled in. What used to take several manual steps now takes one.

Everything captured through AI FlashMemo flows into AI MindHub, the device’s central knowledge hub. Lecture notes, screenshots from a shopping spree, saved videos, and social media inspiration — content that is usually scattered across chat threads, camera rolls, and notes apps — are automatically tagged, categorized, and gathered into a single searchable knowledge base. Less time digging through old conversations to find that one link; everything worth keeping lives in one place, ready when it’s needed.

A long press activates Folax AI, giving users one-tap access to five leading AI models, including ChatGPT and Google Gemini, for instant queries based on whatever is on screen. Users can switch between models with a tap to compare answers from multiple perspectives, without leaving the current page. No more bouncing between apps to look up a term, compare a product, or get a quick explanation.

Personalization extends to the home screen, with AI Custom Wallpapers and themes that go beyond generic stock options, giving users a setup that feels like their own. On the imaging side, HOT 70’s 50MP main camera captures everyday moments with sharpness and detail, while a suite of AI tools makes editing simple: AI Live Photo Mode locks in the sharpest frame from a motion sequence, AI Eraser removes unwanted people or clutter, and AI Extender intelligently expands photo backgrounds for sharing. Share-ready content becomes the default, not the exception.

From Morning to Late Night, Uninterrupted

HOT 70 ships with an upgraded battery system built for a full day of use: a 6000mAh single-cell battery, or a dual-cell 5600mAh³ variant in select markets, paired with 45W Lightning FastCharge that goes from empty to full in an hour⁴. A full day of classes, group chats, and video lectures rolls into an evening of streaming, social, and video calls without the constant hunt for an outlet or the dead weight of a power bank in the bag.

HOT 70’s All-Scenario Bypass Charging addresses another familiar frustration: phones that overheat and slow down during long livestreams or video sessions while plugged in. The system routes power from the charger directly to the device, bypassing the battery entirely and keeping the phone cool and stable through demanding use.

All those streaming, scrolling, and content-viewing hours play out on a 6.78-inch 120Hz display, with smooth visuals that match the device’s all-day stamina. Up to 700 nits HBM brightness keeps content sharp and readable outdoors, including under direct sunlight when checking navigation or replying to messages on a commute. Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate platform supports stable performance and smooth multitasking through extended use, keeping the device responsive across work, entertainment, and content creation.

    Military-Grade Durability for Real-Life Use

HOT 70 brings Military-Grade Durability to the mid-segment, engineered to handle the kind of damage that usually shortens a phone’s life: rainy commutes, sweaty workouts, and phones slipping out of hands during the dash from a car. Behind that Military-Grade build is a comprehensive protection system. IP65-rated dust and splash protection guards against rain, sweat, and accidental exposure to water. SGS-certified Premium Performance and Gold Standard Drop Resistance back to the device, with rigorous testing — 1.5m extreme drops, multi-angle falls, and over 40 consecutive front-face drops with the screen and core functions intact.

Protection extends inward, encompassing the HOT 70’s everyday functions and the personal data it holds. Folax-Speaker Cleaner uses sonic vibrations to clear dust and moisture from the speakers, preventing the gradual muffling that sets in months later. XGuard Full-Link Protection adds another layer for personal data, with XHide, App Lock, Unlock Security Protection, and Advertisement Control covering privacy, app access, and intrusive pop-up ads.

The same protective logic carries through to how HOT 70 stays connected. Pure Voice noise cancellation protects the user’s voice from background noise such as busy streets, cafés, and transit, keeping calls clear on both ends without users having to step outside or ask the other person to repeat themselves. UltraLink also enables Bluetooth-based direct communication up to 1.5km away when the cellular signal drops out.

Software longevity rounds out the durability story. HOT 70 ships with XOS 16 and supports up to 3 major OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches on supported models⁵, keeping the device current with new features and protected against emerging threats well into its lifetime.

Bringing More “Pro” Fun: Expanding the HOT 70 SERIES

Sharing the same Colorful, Versatile, Fun spirit, Infinix also previewed the upcoming HOT 70 Pro. Designed for users seeking a step up from the HOT 70, the Pro will introduce refinements across design, imaging, AI, and performance. More details about the HOT 70 Pro will be announced at a later date.

    Price and Availability

Infinix HOT 70 is available in Thermo Orange, Quiet Violet, Green Texture, Night Pulse, Silver Dancer, and Dive Blue. Users can choose between 128GB and 256GB storage configurations, with models offering 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 8GB of extra expandable RAM.
