Troops of the 65 Battalion, Nigerian Army, have arrested six suspects and dismantled a suspected illegal bunkering site in the Orile area of Lagos State.

The operation also led to the recovery of four trucks, a pumping machine, and assorted pipes and drums allegedly used for illegal bunkering activities.

In a statement, the Army said, “Acting on credible intelligence the troops raided the site and arrested six suspected oil bunkerers. The operation also led to the recovery of four trucks, one pumping machine, and assorted pipes and drums allegedly used for illegal bunkering activities.”

The suspects and all recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Commending the troops, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, urged personnel to sustain the fight against economic sabotage and other criminal activities within the Division’s area of responsibility.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi and the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, have been spotted together at a public event.

Obi and Amaechi were seen together at the service of songs of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, mother of the ADC’s governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

At the service of songs held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Fountain of Life Sanctuary in Ikeja, both top tier politicians were seen engaged in a chit-chat while hugging each other.

Nkechi came into the spotlight during the 2023 election campaign, when she played an active role in mobilising support for her son.

After the election, she alleged widespread vote buying and accused security agencies of failing to apprehend the perpetrators.

Former Premier League player, Paul Ince, has expressed skepticism regarding Manchester United’s decision to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea. 

He contended that the assessment of the Brazilian, who was purchased for £50 million, remains inconclusive.

In an interview with OddsChecker, Ince asserted that Kobbie Mainoo surpasses Andrey Santos in skill and should be receiving more playing time. He is uncertain about the contributions of the former Chelsea player on the field and remarked:

“When you consider Manchester United’s objectives, it is clear they need to bolster that position. I am unsure if [Manuel] Ugarte will return, but they have signed Santos from Chelsea for £50m, which is a significant sum for a player of his caliber.

“I think the jury’s still out on that one. So to spend £50m on a young central midfield player when you’ve got [Kobbie] Mainoo coming through the ranks, kind of baffled me a bit.” (via Metro)

Ince has expressed admiration for Tielemans, considering him an excellent acquisition, and believes Ederson from Atalanta would have also been a valuable addition for Manchester United.

He is confident that the club will pursue the Serie A talent again, stating, “I regard Tielemans as a remarkable player. He resembles a Fernandes-type player, but he is exceptionally skilled. I still think they are attempting to finalize the Ederson deal from Atalanta.

“Consequently, they have numerous midfielders in that area that require enhancement. I believe [Mainoo] is the ideal candidate for that position. I have faith in him; he possesses a sharp mind, is youthful, energetic, and capable of maintaining possession of the ball.”

The Red Devil signed Andrey Santos for £48 million with another £2 million addition.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested two suspected members of an organised fraud syndicate accused of forging official documents, impersonating legitimate business operators and defrauding members of the public.

The command said the suspects, identified as Yahaya Abdul, 44, from Kogi State, and Christopher Erin, 44, from Akwa Ibom State, were apprehended following a complaint about the activities of individuals allegedly operating under the name AM-PM Global Network LTD to deceive unsuspecting victims.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects belong to a criminal syndicate specialising in document forgery, impersonation and other sophisticated fraudulent schemes aimed at obtaining money by false pretence.

The police said the suspects allegedly used the identity of the company to present themselves as legitimate business operators while carrying out their fraudulent activities.

The command added that investigations were ongoing to uncover and dismantle the entire syndicate.

It disclosed that another suspect, identified only as Richard, is currently on the run, adding that efforts had been intensified to apprehend him and bring him to justice.

The police said the two suspects remain in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has joined Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam on a loan from Wolves for the 2026/27 season, DAILY POST reports.

The agreement includes an option to buy for Ajax.

Arokodare, will be hoping to join the long list of Nigerians including Finidi George, Nwankwo Kanu, Tijani Babangida, and Sunday Oliseh, who made big impressions with the former European champions.

The 25-year-old joined Wolves from Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk last summer.

The Nigerian failed to make much impact at the Molineux, recording three goals, and one assist in 33 league appearances for the Old Gold.

Arokodare was a top scorer in the Belgian Pro League during the 2024/2025 season.

Students from three Lagos universities went head-to-head last week to design the next generation of clean energy solutions, as All On Partnerships for Energy Access marked ten years of operations with a hackathon that put young innovators at the centre of Nigeria’s energy conversation.

Participants from the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, and Yaba College of Technology were organised into six multidisciplinary teams and tasked with developing solutions to real-world energy challenges across healthcare, agriculture, fisheries, cold-chain logistics, and education. Each team had one day to refine their concept before presenting it to a panel of renewable energy and innovation experts.

The winning team, “Current Creators,” emerged with ColdLink, a digital platform built to improve the efficiency of renewable-powered cold-chain logistics. The solution integrates real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, fleet management, and energy performance tracking to reduce post-harvest losses and improve the long-term viability of clean energy infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer Caroline Eboumbou said All On sees the hackathon as a natural extension of its core investment work.

“For the past ten years, All On has invested in people, businesses, and partnerships that are expanding access to clean energy across Nigeria. The All On @10 Hackathon builds on that commitment, giving young innovators the opportunity to develop practical solutions that will help shape the future of our energy sector.”

Entries were assessed by Bolanle Adesan of SFM Limited, Dr. James Ogunleye of Carbon Limits Nigeria, Henry Bassey of Green Hub Africa, and Babajide Sokeye of All On, with teams scored on innovation, technical feasibility, commercial viability, scalability, and potential social impact.

The hackathon forms part of a broader anniversary programme marking All On’s decade of operations, during which the company has deployed approximately $47 million across more than fifty energy businesses and reached an estimated 1.6 million Nigerians with improved energy access.

Yesterday, Nigeria failed one of its finest.

My brother-in-law, Colonel Abdulrazaq Abdulkareem Udeh, a senior intelligence officer who dedicated years of his life to defending this nation, was not killed while resisting a kidnapping, as some reports may  have claimed. He was deliberately targeted and brutally assassinated.

The attackers shot him in the head, killing him. They also shot his wife—my sister—in the leg. The driver and the gateman were both shot in the legs as well. As I write this, my sister is in the hospital, fighting to survive.

After years of loyal service to Nigeria, and just some months before his well-deserved promotion, his life was cut short in the most horrific way.

This was not just another tragic incident. It was a calculated attack on a man who served his country with honor.

His family deserves the truth. Nigeria deserves the truth.

A thorough, transparent, and uncompromising investigation must be carried out to identify, arrest, and prosecute every person responsible for this heinous crime. Justice must not only be done—it must be seen to be done.

May Allah grant Colonel Abdulrazaq Abdulkareem Udeh Al-Jannah Firdaus, grant his family the strength to bear this unimaginable loss, and grant my sister complete healing. Ameen.
