‘She couldn’t breathe’ – Moses Bliss on wife’s battle with unknown ailment [VIDEO]

Popular Nigerian gospel musician, Moses Bliss, has narrated how his wife, Marie Bliss, battled an unknown ailment.

Moses who shared this during his recent ministration at the Mountain Experience program in Abuja, stated that Marie couldn’t breathe during the sickness.

While testifying to the power of God, the singer explained that the ailment which could not be diagnosed despite multiple tests, comes with body pain and difficulty breathing

He further revealed that the undiagnosed illness was overcome with prayers.

‎”Me and my wife were in the UK, and all of a sudden we don’t know when the devil came. My wife became ill with one side of her body paining her, the back is also paining her, and before you know it, she could not breathe very well. It became serious that we had to take her to the hospital. And doctors said they don’t know the cause.

“They were doing all sorts of tests and they did not know what was going on and I started crying. I had to quickly rush down to Nigeria for a program. On the flight back to London, the spirit of God told me what are you wanting for? Are you not going to put an end to this nonsense, to this Harassment. Who are you wanting for?

“So when I got to the hospital I started praying with my wife, and pumping the words of God into her heart. While on my way home, she called me that she had been discharged,” he said.

NAICOM workers stage protest, table 25-point demand over promotions, welfare

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, National Insurance Commission, NAICOM, chapter, on Monday protested against what it described as unfair labour practices and persistent neglect of staff welfare by management of the institution.

The workers picketed the NAICOM headquarters in Abuja during the peaceful protest.

Speaking during the protest, the union chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Mustapha, accused the NAICOM management of failing to honour existing agreements and directives from the Minister of Labour, despite several rounds of discussions.

He alleged that the refusal to implement agreed welfare and administrative reforms had eroded trust between staff and management, insisting that workers would continue to press for compliance with labour policies and fair treatment.

The union presented a wide-ranging 25-point demand list covering issues such as promotion delays, alleged selective implementation of policies, staff transfers, training opportunities, and welfare packages.

Key demands include the immediate promotion of eligible staff, fair and transparent recruitment and promotion processes, and an end to what the union described as “vindictive transfers”.

The workers are also demanding improved staff training opportunities, and equal application of workplace policies across all cadres.

They equally raised concerns over alleged preferential treatment in allowances and car grants, calling for equal distribution in line with prevailing market rates.

Also, the union demanded the implementation of monetisation policies, proper investigation into internal administrative processes, and staff inclusion in key institutional exercises.

Other demands include improved working conditions in zonal offices, enhanced security at the headquarters following reported theft incidents, and payment of outstanding allowances and rent advances in line with conditions of service.

The union urged management to return to the negotiation table to resolve the disputes amicably, warning that members would not back down until their demands were addressed.

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, said it has gotten a new venue for its national convention scheduled to hold in Abuja on Tuesday, April 14.

The ADC, in a tweet on its X handle, said the national convention will take place at the Rainbow event center in Abuja.

The party said the event center will provide a central, accessible, and fitting venue for delegates and stakeholders expected from across the country.

”The choice of Abuja underscores the national significance of the gathering and sets the stage for a well-coordinated convention in a vibrant hub that is easily reachable for participants from all parts of Nigeria,” the tweet read.

    Earlier…

Kola Ologbondiyan, media aide to Senator David Mark, the embattled National Chairman of the ADC had said: “24 hours to the ADC National Convention, the Nigerians-aligned political party is yet to be issued a venue.”

According to him, the party formally approached the office of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, seeking approval to use Eagle Square, but has received no response despite an acknowledgement.

“A letter was presented to the Office of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, for a permit to use the Eagles Square. The letter was acknowledged but no response,” he added.

He said the party also explored using facilities at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, including the Velodrome, but those efforts failed.

Reacting on Monday, the Minister of FCT, Wike said described claims of politically motivated access denial to Eagle Square as “unfounded” and described them as “attempts to gain public sympathy.”

According to him, no formal application had been received from any of the parties raising the alarm.

He stressed that Eagle Square remains open to all groups so long as they follow due process and pay the required fees.

“We do not deny access; these events actually generate revenue for the government.

“Who denied them? I am not aware of any such development, and I don’t even know which party you are referring to.

Juicyway Receives FCA Authorisation, Opens UK-Africa Payments Corridor

The cross-border payments platform secures FCA authorisation as it prepares to launch remittances, multi-currency accounts, and FX services for the UK-Africa corridor.

Juicyway has received an Authorised Payment Institution (API) licence from the Financial Conduct Authority, the United Kingdom’s primary financial regulator. The licence authorises Juicyway to provide payment services to individuals and businesses in the UK and marks the beginning of the company’s formal entry into the British market, where it plans to launch remittance services, multi-currency accounts, and foreign exchange products tailored to African corridor needs.

The FCA has deliberately tightened its approval gateway in recent years. Application refusal rates have risen from approximately 1 in 14 in 2021 to 1 in 5 by 2023, with approval rates now hovering around 20%.

Authorisation requires passing a rigorous review of a company’s compliance infrastructure, capital adequacy, fund safeguarding standards, and operational resilience; the same framework is applied to every regulated payment institution operating in the UK.

Clearing that bar is a meaningful signal of institutional credibility.

The timing reflects the scale of the opportunity. The UK-Africa remittance corridor moves billions of pounds annually, yet the experience for senders remains costly and fragmented. Africans in the UK, whether sending monthly support to family, paying suppliers across the continent, or managing multi-currency business accounts, have largely had to rely on platforms that weren’t designed around African corridors, with the currency pairs, speed, and pricing that diaspora users and businesses actually need.

Juicyway is building for exactly this audience.

“Getting this licence was not the easy path,” said Ife Johnson, Founder and CEO of Juicyway. “It required months of demonstrating that our compliance, our controls, and our operational standards meet the bar the FCA sets. We did that work because we believe the African community in the UK deserves a financial platform that was built for them, regulated, reliable, and on their side. This is the foundation. The product follows.”

Juicyway serves over 2,200 enterprises and 17,000 individuals, having processed more than $4 billion in transaction volume across African currency corridors and beyond.

  • Tinubu Meets Security Chiefs Amid Rising Attacks

Tinubu Meets Security Chiefs Amid Rising Attacks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has held a high-level meeting with Nigeria’s security chiefs as part of renewed efforts to tackle rising insecurity across the country.

The meeting, which took place in Abuja, focused on the escalating wave of terrorist attacks, banditry, and threats to military formations, particularly in the North-East and North-West regions.

Top military and intelligence officials in attendance included the Chief of Defence Staff and heads of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other security agencies, who briefed the President on the current security situation and ongoing operations.

Sources indicate that discussions centered on strengthening counter-terrorism strategies, improving intelligence gathering, and enhancing coordination among security agencies to combat insurgent groups more effectively.

The meeting comes amid growing concerns over recent deadly attacks on military bases and civilian communities, as well as calls for stronger and more decisive action from the government.

President Tinubu is said to have reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ending terrorism and restoring peace, while urging security agencies to intensify operations and deliver results.

The development signals a renewed push by the federal government to review and reinforce its security architecture in response to evolving threats.

  • Secure release of 400 abducted Ngoshe residents – Ndume tells Tinubu

Secure release of 400 abducted Ngoshe residents – Ndume tells Tinubu

Senator representing Borno South in the National Assembly, Ali Ndume, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to increase efforts to secure the release of over 400 residents of Ngoshe, in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Ndume made an appeal in a statement on Monday.

Insurgent had attacked the community last month, destroying buildings and abducting residents.

Meanwhile, the military has since recovered the community from the terrorists.

In a fresh appeal, Ndume urged the Federal Government to complement the Borno State government in the resettlement of displaced residents, whom he noted are willing to return to the community considering the military presence.

“It is on record that the Nigerian Army had since recovered Ngoshe from the insurgents and now occupies it. Those who were lucky to have escaped from their villages now seek refuge in Pulka.

“It is appalling that those of us in authority at the federal level have not met the expectations of our people in fulfillment of this sacred duty of securing lives and property, as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.

“We call on the Federal Government to take urgent and prompt actions to secure the release of over 400 residents of Ngoshe in captivity.

“We appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to set machinery in motion for the reconstruction of the Ngoshe community, which has been totally destroyed by the insurgents.

“The Federal Government should urgently support the Borno State Government that has already released N100 million for immediate reconstruction, resettlement, and rehabilitation of Ngoshe.

“The President should mandate its agencies like the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), and the Ministry of Housing to move into the Ngoshe community to support the state government.

“From my interactions with the people, they have indicated their willingness to go back to Ngoshe immediately and live in improvised tents before their houses are rebuilt in Ngoshe. The people really want to go back and live in camp in Ngoshe instead of Pulka.”

He commended what he called “the gallantry of men and officers of the Nigerian Army who had exhibited unusual patriotism as they remained resilient not to surrender to the evil activities of the insurgents amidst the inadequacies of the Federal Government to meet their expectations in terms of Training, Equipment, Ammunition & Motivation (TEAM)”.

The former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army equally tasked the international community, particularly the United States, to beam their searchlight on three black spots in Borno State – Sambisa Forest, Mandara Mountains, and the Lake Chad region, an axis acknowledged as a haven of the terrorists, from where they always launch attacks.

“We urge the Nigerian Armed Forces, supported by the United States Army, to ensure that its actions are sustainable, not intermittent, until the terrorists have been wiped out.

“Finally, I want to reiterate my advocacy on the adoption of what I call the TEAM. It means Training, Equipment, Ammunition, and Mobilization of the Nigerian Armed Forces to ensure maximum output from them.”

I Am Not Afraid Of Donald Trump..Pope Leo

Pope Leo XIV on Monday said he had “no intention to debate” with Donald Trump, after the US president criticised him over his comments on the US-Iran war.

Pope Leo XXIV while en route to Algeria said

“I think that the people who read will be able to draw their own conclusions:

I am not a politician, I have no intention of entering into a debate with him. Rather, let us always seek peace and put an end to wars.

I am not afraid of the Trump administration. I speak about the Gospel, I am not a politician. I do not think the message of the Gospel should be abused in the way some people are doing.

I will continue to speak out loudly against war, to try to promote peace, multilateral dialogue between states in order to seek the right solution to problems.

The message of the Church is the message of the Gospel, blessed are the peacemakers; I do not see my role as that of a politician, I do not want to enter into a debate with him. Too many people are suffering in the world.”

  • SEC Orders Asset Freeze On Individuals, Entities Over Terror Links

SEC Orders Asset Freeze On Individuals, Entities Over Terror Links

The Securities and Exchange Commission has directed all capital market operators to immediately freeze assets linked to 10 individuals and three entities newly designated under Nigeria’s sanctions regime, in a move aimed at strengthening efforts to combat terrorism financing.

In a circular issued to operators, the commission said the directive followed the approval of the Nigeria Sanctions Committee in line with the provisions of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022. The affected individuals and entities have now been added to the Nigeria Sanctions List and are subject to a comprehensive set of restrictions, including asset freezes, travel bans, and arms embargoes.

“All Capital Market Operators are required to immediately identify and freeze, without prior notice, all funds, assets, and any other economic resources belonging to the designated persons and entities,” the SEC said.

The regulator further instructed operators to report all enforcement actions taken to the sanctions committee and file suspicious transaction reports with the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit for further analysis.

“CMOs are to immediately file a suspicious transactions report to the NFIU for further analysis on the financial activities of such individuals or entities,” the commission added.

According to the SEC, the freezing directive extends beyond assets directly held by the sanctioned parties to include funds and resources owned jointly, indirectly, or controlled through third parties and proxies.

“This freezing obligation extends to all funds or other assets owned or controlled by the designated persons or entities, including those acting on their behalf or at their direction,” the commission stated.

The SEC warned that failure to comply with the directive could expose financial institutions and market operators to both criminal and civil liabilities, as well as significant reputational damage.

The commission emphasized that the sanctions framework is a preventive tool designed to disrupt the flow of funds to terrorist organisations and related networks, reinforcing Nigeria’s broader efforts to safeguard the integrity of its financial system.

The latest directive comes amid intensified action by the Federal Government to clamp down on terrorism financing. On April 11, authorities released a list of 48 individuals and entities suspected of involvement in terror-related activities, directing financial institutions across the country to freeze associated assets and report suspicious transactions.

Some of the listed individuals and entities are believed to have links to proscribed groups such as the Indigenous People of Biafra, Ansarul Sudan, and the Islamic State West Africa Province.
