Bandits attack Kwara community, kill soldiers, others
Armed bandits, on Monday, attacked Kemanji village in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing scores of people, DAILY POST reports.
The bloody attack, which also claimed some soldiers’ lives, occurred at about 3 am, according to security sources who confirmed the development to DAILY POST on Monday.
Reports said security agents, comprising the Nigerian Army and local vigilantes, engaged the bandits in an intense gun battle that lasted until 5 am.
DAILY POST gathered that a few soldiers were killed during the attack, though the full extent of the damage caused by the attack could not be ascertained as of the time of this report.
Recall that armed bandits recently invaded Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, killed scores, burnt houses and abducted over 100 residents who are still in captivity.
In another development, suspected bandits on Sunday reportedly attacked Ora Ayegbaju in Obbo-Ile, Ekiti local government area.
Three brothers were fatally injured during the attack which occurred at about 22:00hrs, while others fled for safety.
The three injured were identified as AbdulJareem Adamu, AbdulJareem Yunusa and AbdulJareem Yusuf.
The three injured brothers are currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Osi town.
Authorities were yet to respond to the two developments on Monday.

EPL: Gary Neville, Micah Richards name team to win title between Arsenal, Man City
Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville and former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards have predicted the team to win the Premier League title.
This comes after Manchester City defeated Arsenal 2-1 in Sunday’s Premier League tie at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville and Richards backed Man City to win the Premier League title ahead of the Gunners.
“I don’t think both teams (Arsenal and Man City) will win every game. I think Man City have a massive, massive advantage now,” Neville said.
“I think next Saturday night [at home to Newcastle] has got a lot of danger [for Arsenal].
“That tension will still be there next Saturday, and Arsenal have to cope with that and come through it.
“For the first time this season, I am going to say [the Premier League ribbons] are going to be blue.”
On his part, Richards added, “I always said if Man City wins this game, it would give them the momentum.
“I thought Arsenal were very good today, but Man City just got over the line.
“I said: if Man City win this game, they win the league.”
