In a caption on the video, the command stated, “Last night’s operation targeted a significant presence of ISIS fighters in Northeastern Nigeria, eliminating multiple high-value individuals, including Abu-Bilal al-Minuki.”
DAILY POST had reported that United States President Donald Trump had announced that American forces, in collaboration with the Nigerian Armed Forces, carried out a joint military operation that resulted in the killing of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, identified as the second-in-command of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, ISIS, worldwide.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social account on Saturday, Trump said the operation was the outcome of extensive intelligence gathering and strategic coordination aimed at tracking the activities of the terrorist leader in Africa.
Also confirming the incident, President Tinubu described the overnight operation as a “significant example of effective collaboration” between both countries in the fight against terrorism.

An aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Somolu Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdul Hamed Salawu, popularly known as Dullar, has announced his withdrawal from the race.
Salawu, the immediate past Chairman of Somolu Local Government, disclosed his decision on Saturday, stating that it was driven by his commitment to party unity, democratic stability, and the broader interest of the APC in the constituency.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as disciplined and progressive leadership, stressing that national interest must always be placed above individual ambition and political considerations.
He further pledged to accept the party’s outcome “peacefully and in good faith without protest,” while urging his supporters across Lagos State to remain calm, united, and fully loyal to the APC.
Salawu also expressed hope that political actors would, in the future, extend similar understanding and loyalty whenever decisions within the party structure do not favour them.
