Blord relocated from criminals cell over health concerns – VeryDarkMan shares update

Celebrity Nigerian businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, also known as Blord, has reportedly been relocated from a criminal cell over health concerns.

This comes two weeks after the Federal High Court in Abuja remanded Blord in Kuje prison for 26 days.

DAILY POST reports that Blord was arraigned on multiple counts, including impersonating VeryDarkMan and forgery.

However, giving an update on the issue in a post on his Instagram story, VeryDarkMan disclosed that Blord has been sick since April 6, 2026.

He further shared a WhatsApp message alleging that Blord has been transferred from “Egypt 2” to segregation. “Egypt 2 na the Ajegunle part of Kuje prison where armed robbers and other criminals stay. They had to move him because he was sick.”

While mocking Sowore for not being able to secure Blord’s release, VeryDarkMan announced his willingness to “temper mercy.”

He also wrote on his story: “Sowore and his avengers don’t have power to bring Blord out and discontinue the case like he claimed. We are willing to temper mercy.”

DAILY POST reports that popular human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, had condemned the manner and speed at which Blord was remanded and accused VeryDarkMan and his lawyer of oppression.

  • Ogun League of Imams, Alfas condemn proposed return of public schools to missionaries

Ogun League of Imams, Alfas condemn proposed return of public schools to missionaries

The League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State, on Monday, rejected plans by the state government to return public schools to missionary bodies.

They described the decision as “ill-advised, provocative, and unjustifiable.”

Recall that last week, Governor Dapo Abiodun, while receiving the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Most Rev. Michael Crotty, accompanied by the Catholic Bishop of Ijebu-Ode, Most Rev. Francis Adesina; the Catholic Bishop of Abeokuta, Most Rev. Peter Odetoyinbo; and other Catholic officials during a courtesy visit to his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said all missionary schools would be returned to their original proprietors.

He acknowledged the contributions of religious organisations, but contended that the government could not achieve its objectives without the private sector.

“We will return all missionary schools to their owners. It is not in our policy to do it alone. We need to join hands with private individuals and we encourage further partnership with the church to expand development,” Governor Abiodun stated.

Reacting to this, the Secretary General of the League of Imams and Alfas in the state, Imam Tajudeen Adewunmi, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, said the policy was not only a gross misreading of history but a dangerous affront to the principles of equity, justice, and religious balance in a plural society.

“Public schools in Ogun State were nationalised to eliminate precisely the kind of sectarian control the government now seeks to reintroduce. To reverse this progress is to deliberately court division, deepen distrust, and destabilise the fragile harmony that has defined our state for decades.”

“Let it be stated without ambiguity: this move is discriminatory in effect and unacceptable in its entirety. It signals a troubling willingness by the government to prioritise the interests of a particular religious bloc over the collective rights of all citizens. Such a path is not only unjust but also politically reckless,” Adewunmi stated.

They demanded an “unconditional abandonment of the policy”, insisting that anything short of it would be interpreted as a calculated disregard for fairness and a direct challenge to the principles of inclusive governance.

“The Muslim community, which constitutes a substantial and historically rooted segment of Ogun State, will not stand idly by while its rights, sensitivities, and contributions are disregarded. We categorically reject any policy that seeks to cede public institutions that were built, upgraded, and managed with the resources of all to sectarian control under any guise.”

“Furthermore, we put the government on notice: any attempt to proceed with this agenda without comprehensive consultation and equitable safeguards will attract firm, coordinated, and lawful resistance from the Muslim community and all well-meaning stakeholders committed to justice.”

The Muslim community asserted that government must continue to unite, not divide; to protect, not to provoke; and to take the state forward, not drag it backwards into an era of exclusion and sectarian dominance under the watch of those entrusted with leadership.

War: US, Israel ground Iran’s aircraft

The United States and Israel have disrupted Iran’s aviation sector in recent hostilities, with 60 passenger aircraft grounded.

The newspaper Shargh, citing the association of Iranian airlines, reported Monday that the aircraft were affected during the conflict.

Seven airports across the country were reportedly hit in the strikes.

The most severe damage was recorded at Mehrabad Airport in the capital, as well as in the northwestern city of Tabriz and the central desert city of Kashan.

It is a popular destination for domestic and international travelers.

Major carriers including Mahan Air and Iran Air were among the hardest hit, the association said.

The damage came amid a fragile two-week ceasefire agreed by the warring parties last week.

However, initial negotiations aimed at ending the conflict failed over the weekend, raising uncertainty about the stability of the truce and the timeline for recovery in Iran’s aviation industry.

Knights Templar condemns Trump’s AI image, demands apology

    By Enitan Abdultawab

The Knights Templar Order has strongly condemned an AI-generated image shared by Donald Trump, depicting himself in a Christ-like form, describing it as “offensive and blasphemous.”

The group condemned the president via a statement issued in reaction to the image, and subsequently demanded its immediate removal. The group also called on the US president to issue a public apology to Christians worldwide.

“The Knights Templar Order and its ruling Council demand that this offensive and blasphemous image be removed forthwith,” the statement read.

The organisation noted that its criticism comes despite its previous political support for Trump, particularly during the 2016 and 2024 elections. It added that its backing in 2016 was even cited in reports by The New York Times as contributing to his electoral success.

However, the group said the controversial depiction had crossed a line, leaving it with no option but to openly denounce the president.

“We are deeply offended by this and have no other choice but to condemn it wholeheartedly and ask for a public apology to the Christian brethren who have been deeply upset by this depiction,” the statement added.

The group cited the Bible to support its stance and issued a warning against acts that it deemed derogatory to Christianity.

“We respectfully remind President Trump of the Bible Scripture found in Galatians 6:7: ‘God will not be mocked.’”

The backlash comes after the AI-generated image sparked complaints from religious organizations and others who thought it was offensive and provocative.

  • Sunderland Condemn Racist Abuse Of Brobbey

Sunderland Condemn Racist Abuse Of Brobbey

Sunderland have condemned the racist abuse directed at forward Brian Brobbey on social media following Sunday’s 1-0 Premier League win over Tottenham, saying it highlights the “ongoing and unacceptable frequency of this behaviour”.

The club reported the abuse to the Premier League, social media platforms and the police and said they “expect swift action to be taken against those responsible”.

Brobbey is the latest Premier League player to be sent social media abuse this season, with four players, including team-mate Romaine Mundle, targeted in one weekend in February.

This month a man was arrested over accusations of racist abuse directed at Sunderland’s Lutsharel Geertruida during the match at Newcastle United in March, a game that was paused by the referee, in line with the Premier League’s anti-discrimination protocol.

A Sunderland statement read: “We stand firmly with Brian and offer him our full and unwavering support.

“This is not an isolated incident. Recent abuse directed at Romaine Mundle and Lutsharel Geertruida highlights the ongoing and unacceptable frequency of this behaviour, both inside stadiums and online.

“Racism is abhorrent and has no place in our game or in society, and we will continue to call it out clearly and unapologetically every time it occurs.

“Football must be a safe and inclusive environment for all – without exception.”

The Premier League said in a statement: “We are disgusted by the ongoing discrimination players are facing on social media and are committed to working with clubs, authorities, law enforcement and social media companies to address this issue, as well as supporting investigations to bring those responsible to justice.

“Any individuals identified and found guilty of discrimination will face the strongest possible consequences, including custodial sentences, football banning orders and criminal records.”

Netherlands international Brobbey was involved in a second-half incident at the Stadium of Light when he nudged Tottenham defender Cristian Romero into his own goalkeeper, Antonin Kinsky. The injured Romero then left the field in tears.

The UK Football Policing Unit (UKFPU) is investigating the abuse of the four players in February, which also included Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana and Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare,

Anti-discrimination group Kick It Out has said reports of online abuse are at record levels, increasing by a third compared to last season.

UKFPU deputy director Mike Ankers said that it has seen an increase of about 115% in the number of reports.

Last November, investigation found that more than 2,000 extremely abusive social media posts, including death and rape threats, were sent about managers and players in the Premier League and Women’s Super League in one weekend.

The season-opening Premier League game between Liverpool and Bournemouth in August was stopped after Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo reported being racially abused by someone in the Anfield crowd.

  • Man City Have Psychological Edge Over Arsenal – Rooney

Man City Have Psychological Edge Over Arsenal – Rooney

Former England captain Wayne Rooney says Manchester City “will have the edge” psychologically in the Premier League title race.

Leaders Arsenal, who are six points clear having played one game more, travel to Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, he said City “know how to win the title” and “have a manager who knows how to do it”.

“I think City will have the edge on that, just purely the manager and players they’ve got. They will be able to stay a little calmer than the Arsenal players,” said Rooney.

“They will be worried because when you go on a run and lose a few games, you start thinking ‘where’s the next goal, the next win going to come from?’ That negative mindset really has an impact on your performance.”

Manchester City beat Chelsea 3-0 on Sunday to take advantage of Arsenal slipping up with a 2-1 defeat by Bournemouth on Saturday.

Rooney said that whoever wins Sunday’s “title decider” in Manchester will be favourites to win the league.

He added that he thinks a draw will be a “good point” for Arsenal, who may need to “play dirty”.

Rooney added Mikel Arteta’s side must “be tough to break down, make sure there’s no gaps between the lines and try to hit them on the break”.

He added: “Whether the fans like that type of football or not, they have to do anything to stop City winning. They need to be resilient enough to stop City from scoring.”

‘Will be a disaster’ if Spurs go down

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, end the weekend sitting in the relegation zone, following their defeat at Sunderland and West Ham’s win against Wolves.

Rooney said Spurs’ performance was “a bit flat” in the north east, which prevented them being able to have a new-manager bounce in Roberto de Zerbi’s first game in charge.

“Sometimes you get a bounce but I think you get that when a new manager comes in and you are front-footed and aggressive on the ball,” he said. “I thought they were a bit in between.”

The former England striker added that De Zerbi “needs to find some answers quickly” and that dropping to the Championship would be disastrous for the club.

“It will be a disaster for them if they do go [down],” said Rooney. “I think that’s where some of those players probably are looking at it thinking if they go down they can move on and go to a different club.

“If they don’t get back in the Premier League in the first year, that will be an absolute nightmare for them.”

Tottenham have not won a Premier League match in 2026 and their next game is at home to Brighton on Saturday.

Rooney said they must figure out a way to win to help boost their confidence.

“If they can do that then they give themselves a chance. The longer it goes without winning is difficult for them.”
