Circumcision Is Evil But Helps Me Stay Sexually Disciplined – Actress Inyama

Nigerian actress, Victoria Inyama, has revealed that her experience with female circumcision, despite being traumatic, has influenced her sexual discipline and helped her abstain from unwanted sexual intercourse.

Speaking during an Instagram Live session with media personality, Daddy Freeze, the actress recalled the physical pain and trauma she endured when she was circumcised at the age of five.

Although she described Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) as “evil,” Inyama also called it “the best thing that happened to me”.

According to her, the procedure has helped her control sexual urges on several occasions, enabling her to stay true to her resolve.

“FGM is evil. You now have to deal with the consequences of that thing, having a mind of its own. Yes, I was (circumcised). Because I grew up in the village with my grandmother. But that is what is helping me. That is the best thing that they did for me. I swear to God. If I say I no dey do, I no dey do. And that is the power that I have,” she said.

“That is why nobody can say they have seen me in this hotel or that hotel.

“At the age of five or six. They will give you some (kind of) gin. When you take it, you will think you have fainted. They held me down. It was a specialist person who did it. It was just a swipe.”

When asked why she did not circumcise her own children, Inyama said she does not have absolute authority over such decisions regarding them.

“I did not do it for the children. They are British. I will agree if their father wanted to. Even though I have the trauma, I think that is the best thing that happened to me,” she added.

Inyama was married to Godwin Okri. They tied the knot in 2003, but their union ended in 2018.

I found out my husband was angry with me through email – Temi Otedola

Temi Otedola, wife of Nigerian singer, Mr Eazi, has revealed that her husband keeps malice with her whenever he gets upset with her instead of confronting her.
Speaking in an episode of their joint podcast, the actress described her husband’s action as “a bit childish.”

She recalled an incident when she found out her husband was angry with her through email.

“The way I found out that Tosin [Mr Eazi] was actually angry with me on a Monday was that he sent me a long message. And bear in mind that we are sitting in the same flat. I was minding my business, responding to my mails and I got a message saying everything he was upset about me for. While I was reading it my body was already becoming hot. At some point, I couldn’t even read it because I was so angry.

“Because I have asked him ten times if he was upset with me and he said nothing. Honestly, if you’re in the same flat as someone do I think it is a bit childish to not go up and speak to them? Yes. But that is what you’re comfortable with. You find it easier to express yourself by typing. I have gotten some long *ss emails in the past. At least you’re getting it out. But it would be nice if you could just sit down with me and have it out,” she expressed.

Responding, Mr Eazi admitted that he is more comfortable expressing himself through typing.

He pointed out that he wasn’t able to explicitly express his concerns during past one-on-one dialogues.

“I would prefer to sit down with you and talk things out. But I see that sometimes when we sit down to talk, I don’t hit the nail on the head. Also, I think if I communicate during tense moments, I might sound too harsh.

“I don’t think texting someone you’re sitting next to is the best way to communicate. But that is my way. And everybody just needs to find what their way of communication is and communicate. For me, it’s typing. When I want to really express myself, I can do it via typing better than speaking it. Because then I can read it again and crosscheck my tone,” he said.

NYSC important for national growth, togetherness – General Olawunmi

A former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Major General Johnson Olawunmi, Rtd, has said the Scheme is still important for bringing people together and helping the country grow for more than 50 years after it started.

He said the NYSC has kept up with the values it was created with and has met Nigeria’s expectations in every way, even though the program has faced some challenges.

Olawumi stressed that the importance of the Scheme was very high, pointing out the NYSC’s significant contributions in community development, important actions in national programs, promoting unity, and bringing people together through culture.

He said these efforts have made the NYSC a national tool, helping to connect people from different religions, social classes, and cultural backgrounds.

Olawumi shared his opinions about the NYSC during a conversation with the current Director-General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, who recently visited him in Abuja.

He also praised the excellent qualities of the NYSC staff. He said they were some of the top people he had ever worked with.

He told General Nafiu to use their abilities for good leadership. General Olawumi said he keeps watching what the Scheme is doing and gives his opinion when it’s needed.

The NYSC Director General, General Nafiu, stated that the reason for the visit was to honor his previous leader and to take the chance to praise the strength and resolve he showed while leading the NYSC.

He specifically praised him for starting the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) program. Through this program, Corps Members bring healthcare directly to rural communities and poor Nigerians.

They also help with e-registration for Corps Members. Major General Johnson Olawumi served as the Director General of NYSC from January 2014 until April 2016.
