Fuoye suspends two students over leaked adult video of SUG president, Adio

Management of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE has suspended two students of the institution with immediate effect for allegedly posting leaked sex videos of the embattled students’ Union leader, James Iyanuoluwa Adio.

The university disclosed the suspension in a report on its website on Friday.

DAILY POST learnt that the SUG president was earlier suspended over alleged extortion of students.

In a statement issued by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Tajudeen Opoola, who is the Acting Vice Chancellor, the institution alleged that the suspended students “conspired to cyberbully Adio by posting his private affairs online for Adio’s inability to meet their financial demands”.

The two suspended students were identified as Alao Iyanuoluwa Odunayo and Olawale Abiodun Samuel.

The statement revealed that the school management “frowned at the involvement of the two students in denting the image of the university”

“While investigation into the matter continues, the management ordered the two students to immediately proceed on suspension, pointing out that the university is poised to purge the institution of all behaviour capable of denting the image of FUOYE”, the statement added.

Gov Adeleke will survive to handover power to me – Osun PRP guber candidate

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Dr Oyelami Saliu, has cautioned against wishing Governor Ademola Adeleke dead, insisting that the governor would live to hand over power after the election.

Saliu, a medical practitioner, made the remark on Friday during the 10th edition of the Media Parley organised by the Osun Online Publishers Association, OOPA, while reacting to the recent stage collapse involving Governor Adeleke.

He said he wished the governor a long life beyond the end of his tenure, declaring that Adeleke would remain alive to hand over power to him should he win the election.

“Adeleke will not die; he will be alive to hand over to me. Political contests should not be accompanied by ill wishes or hostility towards opponents,” he said.

Speaking on the performance of the current administration, the PRP candidate acknowledged that Governor Adeleke had made efforts in office but argued that the achievements recorded so far were insufficient to meet the aspirations of the people of Osun State.

“The incumbent governor of Osun State has done his best. Clearly, it is time to change the current leadership. It is time for the PRP to take over the reins of governance in Osun State,” he said.

Saliu further stated that his decision to contest the governorship election was informed by his belief that Osun required a different approach to governance and development.

“If Governor Adeleke was doing well enough, I would not be contesting against him,” he added.

The PRP flagbearer assured residents that his administration would perform better across various sectors if elected and pledged to sustain ongoing projects initiated by the present government that were beneficial to the people.

On the issue of airport development in the state, Saliu said he would conduct a detailed assessment of the two airport projects currently under construction before deciding which one would be most viable for completion.

He explained that his administration would prioritise projects based on feasibility, economic benefits and their capacity to drive development across the state.

The governorship candidate while expressing confidence said his party could provide the leadership required to move the state forward.

BusinessDay honours Governor Alia with National Infrastructure Award

The Benue State Government is pleased to announce that His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, has been honoured with the prestigious Infrastructure Award at the maiden edition of the BusinessDay States Competitiveness and Investment Readiness Awards, held yesterday, June 18, 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.

The award, presented by BusinessDay Media Limited, one of Nigeria’s foremost business and economic publications, is a significant national recognition of the remarkable infrastructure transformation taking place across Benue State under Governor Alia’s administration.

More than a ceremonial recognition, the award reflects an independent and data-driven assessment of developmental progress across the country.

According to BusinessDay, the selection process drew from verified data sourced from the National Bureau of Statistics, state budget performance reports, public works records, civil society feedback, and measurable impacts on the lives of citizens.

The recognition comes on the strength of the administration’s ambitious and strategic investment in infrastructure as a catalyst for economic growth, improved service delivery, and enhanced quality of life.

Governor Alia has, over the past three years, consistently prioritized projects aimed at expanding connectivity, improving public utilities, and creating an enabling environment for investment and development.

Among the key projects highlighted during the award presentation is the administration’s ₦149.5 billion infrastructure development programme designed to modernize critical public infrastructure across the state.

Also recognized was the ongoing reconstruction, dualisation and extension of the federal highway Wurukum – Air Force Base – Renewed Hope Estate Road in Makurdi, a project expected to significantly improve traffic flow and transportation efficiency within the state capital.

BusinessDay further acknowledged the upgrade of the Mbawuar-Bako-Negher Road, including the spur to Mbaakon, as well as the construction of the five-span bridge at Mu.

These projects are expected to strengthen rural connectivity, facilitate agricultural movement, boost trade, and deepen economic integration among communities.

The award also reflects the administration’s commitment to improving access to essential services.

Major rehabilitation works on water supply systems serving communities in Otobi, Otukpo, Gwer East, and Katsina-Ala have helped address long-standing challenges related to potable water supply and public health.

In addition, the government has completed more than over 40 township roads within Makurdi metropolis and is overseeing road projects spanning over 500 kilometres across the state.

Other infrastructure interventions cited include urban renewal initiatives, flood control projects, renovation of public facilities, upgrades to government infrastructure, and the construction of strategic interchanges aimed at improving mobility and urban development.

Speaking on the recognition, the Benue State Government described the award as a validation of Governor Alia’s commitment to purposeful leadership and sustainable development.

The administration believes that infrastructure is not merely about physical construction but about creating opportunities, stimulating economic activity, attracting investment, and improving the daily lives of citizens.

The government noted that Benue’s growing reputation as a destination for investment is closely linked to its ongoing infrastructure renewal efforts.

While the state has long been celebrated as Nigeria’s Food Basket, the present administration recognizes that agricultural potential must be supported by modern infrastructure capable of facilitating production, transportation, processing, storage, and market access.

This latest recognition adds to a growing list of national and international honours received by Governor Alia in acknowledgement of his contributions to governance, infrastructure development, humanitarian service, digital innovation, and socio-economic transformation.

These recognitions reflect the impact of policies and programmes designed to reposition Benue State for sustainable growth and prosperity.

The Benue State Government dedicates this award to the resilient and hardworking people of the state whose support and cooperation continue to inspire the administration’s development agenda.

It also serves as a renewed motivation to remain focused on delivering projects and policies that improve lives and expand opportunities for present and future generations.

As Benue State continues its journey of transformation, the administration remains committed to building a modern, competitive, and prosperous state anchored on transparency, innovation, accountability, and inclusive development.

  • 1xBet Bonus Guide: Live betting, odds and bankroll during the World Championship

1xBet Bonus Guide: Live betting, odds and bankroll during the World Championship

How to build a clearer betting strategy during the World Championship and understand the World Win 2026 promo without getting lost in the rules

Major football tournaments are exciting, but they can also be overwhelming. There are more matches, more live moments, more odds changes and more promotions than usual.

That is why 1xBet Bonus Guide was created: to make football betting and bonus mechanics easier to understand, especially for players who want to join World Win 2026 but do not want to spend time reading complicated promo rules.

Guide tips: live bets, odds and bankroll

During the World Championship, betting moves faster. Matches are played almost every day, live odds can change in seconds, and promo mechanics can push players to make quick decisions. That is why it is better to start with a simple plan. Before placing a bet, check three things:

    1. Match logic
Do you understand what is happening in the game? Look at the score, match minute, red cards, injuries, team pressure and general match tempo. In live betting, fast odds are not always good odds.

    2. Odds logic
Do the odds make sense for the risk? For World Win 2026, odds also matter because 1xCoin rewards depend on bet type and odds range. A bet should make sense first, and only then fit the promo mechanics.

    3. Budget logic
Have you set your tournament bankroll? Decide how much you are ready to spend during the tournament, divide it by match days and set a maximum stake per bet. Do not increase stakes after a loss and do not chase 1xCoin, Lucky Tickets or promo prizes outside your budget.

Guide note: the promo should support your strategy, not replace it. If you do not understand the match, the odds or the promo condition, slow down before placing the next bet.

World Win 2026: how the promo works in simple steps

World Win 2026 by 1xBet is built around football activity during the tournament. Players can collect 1xCoin, open football role attributes, receive guaranteed freebets, enter the TOP-48 ranking and collect promo tickets for prize draws.

    Step 1: Join the promo

To participate, players need to register or log in, open the promo page and click “Take part.”

    Step 2: Place qualifying bets

Players place bets from 2 USD on World Championship 2026 matches. Qualifying bets can bring 1xCoin. 1xCoin is used for two main things:

    ●     opening football role attributes

    ●     entering the TOP-48 ranking

    Step 3: Open football roles

The promo includes three football roles:

    ●     Footballer

    ●     Referee

    ●     Fan

Players use 1xCoin to open attributes in these roles. When all attributes in a role are opened, a guaranteed freebet becomes available. Guaranteed freebets include:

    ●     Footballer role: 20 USD freebet

    ●     Referee role: 10 USD freebet

    ●     Fan role: 5 USD freebet

    ●     all three roles completed: 50 USD freebet

Step 4: Use the Lucky Ticket

Players can open one Lucky Ticket per day after collecting 5 promo tickets. Lucky Tickets can bring freebets, bonus points or extra promo tickets.

    Step 5: Collect promo tickets

Promo tickets are given for deposits. The bigger the deposit, the more promo tickets a player can receive. These tickets are used in prize draws, where players can win cash prizes, gadgets, bonus points and freebets.

Step 6: Watch the TOP-48 ranking

Players collect 1xCoin to compete in the tournament ranking. At the end of the promo, the top 48 players by 1xCoin receive cash prizes.

    6. World Win 2026 checklist

    Before joining the promo, check:

    ●     I clicked “Take part” on the promo page

    ●     I understand how to collect 1xCoin

    ●     I know which bets qualify

    ●     I know how football roles work

    ●     I understand how Lucky Tickets work

    ●     I know how promo tickets are collected

    ●     I have set my tournament budget

    ●     I will not chase coins, tickets or prizes outside my limits

    7. The smarter way to play during the World Championship

The World Championship is a long tournament. A good strategy is not about betting on every match. It is about choosing moments, understanding the rules and keeping control. Use this simple formula: Match logic + odds logic + bankroll logic + promo logic = better betting decisions

World Win 2026 gives players several ways to stay involved during the tournament. But the key is to understand the mechanics first. Join the promo, follow the rules, check your budget and use the guide as a quick reference before placing bets.

Final takeaway: do not let a big tournament or a big promo push you into random decisions. Understand the match, understand the odds, understand the promo and stay within your bankroll.
