EPL: Saha names most disappointing signing in Man United history

Former Manchester United and France forward, Louis Saha has labeled Jadon Sancho as the most disappointing signing in the club’s history.

During Sir Alex Ferguson’s lengthy and successful tenure, United excelled in the transfer market; however, the narrative has changed since his retirement in 2013.

Billions have been invested during this time, yet this substantial expenditure has resulted in only modest achievements, with United not securing the Premier League title since Ferguson’s exit.

Paul Pogba, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Romelu Lukaku, and Rasmus Hojlund – all acquired for a minimum of £70m – represent five of Manchester United’s six most costly signings, alongside current standout Harry Maguire.

None has managed to validate impressive price tags, but former United striker, Saha contends that Sancho was the ‘most disappointing’ among them.

Acquired for £73m in 2021, Sancho netted merely 12 goals in 83 appearances for the Red Devils before being loaned to Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and Aston Villa.

Remarkably, Sancho remains under contract with Manchester United but is poised to sever ties with the club when his current agreement concludes in the summer.

Saha was enthusiastic about Sancho’s signing at Old Trafford, believing he possessed ‘enormous talent’ and describing his difficulties as a ‘mystery’.

He told BetVictor, “I believe Jadon Sancho is the most disappointing signing in Manchester United history.

“This is due to the level he demonstrated at Borussia Dortmund prior to his transfer; he exhibited immense potential as he is an extraordinary talent.

“It seemed like a mystery. I am uncertain about what transpired, but he did not come close to reaching his peak, and I think he requires a fresh start, similar to Marcus Rashford.

“I was truly fortunate to have been a football player, and despite facing numerous injuries, I wish I could have participated in as many matches as Sancho has at his age and with his skill set.

“I would have genuinely loved for him to succeed at Old Trafford because he possesses the ability to accomplish remarkable feats, making this situation quite disappointing.”

EPL: Why we played 3-3 with Man City – Everton manager, David Moyes

Everton manager, David Moyes, has explained why his team drew 3-3 against Manchester City in the Premier League on Monday night.

Moyes’ side were leading 3-1 in the 73 minutes of the encounter at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, thanks to a brace from Thierno Barry and a goal from Jake O’Brien.

However, the Toffees ended up playing a draw following two late goals from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Moyes admitted that Everton let themselves down because they defended the goal scored by Haaland poorly.

According to him, his players didn’t do enough to see the game out at 3-1.

“We let ourselves down because we defended the second goal so poorly. We were hugely outplayed in the first half,” Moyes said.

“The players made a great effort to get us in the game, and really, when we got to 3-1, we should be doing enough to see it out,” he said.

  • NNPC Contracts Two Chinese Firms To Revive And Operates Two Refineries

NNPC Contracts Two Chinese Firms To Revive And Operates Two Refineries

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has, for the umpteenth time, begun the process of fixing the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries, two of the federal government-owned refineries that are comatose. This is coming after the two refineries gulped $2.39 billion (over N3.2 trillion) in rehabilitation.

To bring the refineries back to life, the NNPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Chinese companies: Sanjiang Chemical Company Limited and Xingcheng (Fuzhou) Industrial Park Operation and Management Co. Ltd, for collaboration through a potential Technical Equity Partnership (TEP) in support of the completion and operation of the oil facilities.

NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, said the MoU was signed by the Group CEO, NNPCL, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Chairman, Sanjiang Chemical Company, Guan Jianzhong and Chairman of Xinganchen (Fuzhou) Industrial Park Operation and Management Co. Ltd, Bill Bi, in Jiaxing City, China, last Thursday.

The federal government had spent $2.39bn under the previous administration to repair the two refineries. Only the Port Harcourt Refinery was said to have been completed with production starting in November, 2024. However, it was shut down on May 24, 2025, amidst controversy over the output from the refinery.

In March 2021, the FEC approved the sum of $1.5 billion for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery plant, which operates two refineries: the old plant with a capacity of 60,000 barrels per stream day (bpsd) and a new facility with 150,000 bpsd, bringing the refinery’s combined crude processing capacity to 210,000 bpsd.

FEC also approved the sum of $1.48bn for the rehabilitation of Warri and Kaduna refineries in August 2021.

The then Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timpere Sylva, announced at the end of the weekly FEC meeting in Abuja.

Sylva said the rehabilitation of Warri and Kaduna refineries would be awarded to Messers Saipem SPA and Saipem Contracting Limited at the combined total sum of $1.484bn and would be rehabilitated in three phases of 21, 23 and 33 months.

Sylva said $897,678,800 would be spent to repair the Warri refinery, while the Kaduna refinery would gulp $586,902,256, noting that the completion of the rehabilitation exercise would be in three phases spread across 77 months’ period.

But Odeh, in the statement released on Monday, quoted the GCEO of the NNPC Ltd, Engr. Ojulari, as saying that the MoU execution serves as a significant milestone, following more than six months of concerted engagement between the technical and management teams of the NNPC and the two Chinese partners, Sanjiang and Xinganchen.

But the statement did not state how much Nigeria would pay for the new rehabilitation.

“All parties recognise mutually beneficial opportunities for the development and long-term sustainable profitability of NNPC’s refining assets in Nigeria, and the collective weight required for success,” Ojulari noted.

The GCEO further stated that the MoU is an important step on the journey towards identifying potential technical equity partner(s) to restart and expand NNPC’s refineries, and to explore opportunities in co-located petrochemicals and gas-based industries.

The MoU reflects the parties’ shared intent to progress discussions in good faith, with any definitive arrangements to follow in due course and subject to customary approvals.

It stated that the potential framework would cover completion of outstanding work at the two refineries, together with operating and maintaining both facilities to achieve best-in-class, sustainable performance. Planned expansion and upgrades would elevate both facilities to cleaner, more profitable product standards.

“The potential collaboration also contemplates expanding the refineries’ petrochemical capacities and harnessing gas and downstream opportunities through the development of co-located, gas-based industrial hubs,” it added.

It was gathered that with the MoU, the Chinese firms would operate the two refineries when the rehabilitation is completed.

A source who spoke last night said, “What the NNPCL has done was to look for a technical partner instead of an outright sale, as some people have demanded. What this means is that the NNPC would still have an interest in the operation of the refineries, but the details of the partnership would be made known.”

There have been several recommendations from stakeholders and experts on the two refineries, with some stakeholders calling for outright sale as the refineries continue to gulp trillions of taxpayers’ money.

In May 2023, the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on the State of Refineries in the country said the federal government spent over N11 trillion on the rehabilitation of the refineries from 2010 to 2023.

When the new NNPCL management took over, the GMD hinted about selling the refineries, noting that they had become conduit pipes.

However, the management backtracked and instead chose to look for technical partners in its bid to revive the state-owned refineries.

    Doubts over refineries’ operation

Recall that former President Olusegun Obasanjo had stated that the government-owned refineries would never work again.

In an interview, Obasanjo had said, “Someone told me Tinubu said refineries would work by December. I told the person the refineries would not work. This is based on the information I received from Shell when I was President.

“One of the lessons that I learnt is that PPP (public-private partnership) works. Look, one project that has not been destroyed by the government in Nigeria is the NLNG (Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas), where the private sector has 51 per cent, and the Nigerian government has 49 per cent.

“See what we did with Nigerian railways. See what we did with the national shipping company. See what we are doing now, even with the NNPC. The NNPC has refineries, and I said to people that it will never work. And a man had the audacity to say, ‘Am I a chemical engineer?”

Obasanjo opened up on how he tried to convince Shell to run the refineries, but could not succeed.

He also revealed the outcome of a meeting he had with a Shell official after the deal did not work out as planned.

“When I was there, I called Shell. I said, ‘Look, please, I beg you, come and take 10 per cent equity and run the refinery for us.’ They said no. I said, ‘Okay, if you don’t want to take equity, don’t take equity. Come and run the refineries. They said no,”

“So, I called a top Shell official and I said, ‘Tell me, be honest with me. Why don’t you want to handle this?’ He said first, they want to let me know that they make most of their profits on the upstream, not the downstream.

“Number two: he said our refineries are too small. This was when I was an elected President. He said our refineries are too small. One is 60,000 barrels, and another is 100,000 barrels. He said refineries at that time were in the range of 250,000 barrels to 300,000 barrels.

“Number three: he said our refineries are not well-maintained. We call quacks and amateurs to come and maintain our refineries. The refineries are not in good order. He said, ‘Number four, there’s too much corruption around our refineries, and they don’t want to be part of that,” Obasanjo explained.

    Experts fault new deal

Speaking with Daily Trust, Prof. Dayo Ayoade, Energy Law expert at the University of Lagos, stated that the NNPC has not learnt from the mistakes of the past.

He said, “I don’t believe there has been any accountability or contract review to see what has gone wrong.

“But having said that, NNPC Limited is now doing a technical equity partnership agreement, or MoU, with two Chinese entities. To the best of my knowledge, these entities are non-top-tier EPC contractors that are involved in refinery operations.

“So that is a source of concern for me. Do these experts have proven experience in rehabilitation? Do they have access to the kind of technology and process licences that were used to build those refineries?

“Then, as a lawyer, I would say, did NNPC collect performance guarantees from them because it didn’t seem to have done it for the previous people who worked in the refinery?”

He noted that the other issue is the need for an independent assessor to look at the claims of the contractors in reviving the refineries before they sign up and exchange money.

He said, “Also, what is the financial capacity of these contractors? Putting all that aside, there’s absolutely no mention of the costs to NNPC. Is the cost in cash or in crude oil? Either way, there is a problem. The PIA 2021 envisaged a transparent and accountable commercial entity run on the basis of the Companies and Allied Matters Act. So it’s a company that is accountable, and unfortunately, this deal reflects on the secrecy and non-transparent behaviour we saw with the state-owned model that destroyed NNPC before it became NNPC-limited.

“So, the bottom line is that NNPC has decided to go on a technical approach to say we want to resuscitate the refineries. What have we learned from all the past refinery repair jobs that we’ve done? Because I think we spent between 16 and 18 billion dollars in the past on these same refineries, enough to have built a greenfield refinery, a brand new refinery, same as Dangote Refinery. So are we throwing more money or good money after bad money? I think time will tell.”

Prof Ayoade maintained that a multi-pronged approach that factors the issues around governance, political interference and inefficient operator culture that plagued the refineries is needed to revive the facilities.

“So you can’t solve one of these without solving the others. So I think sadly we might not get to the Promised Land on the basis of this announcement. Again, I base my judgement on the small amount of publicly available information,” he added.

On his part, energy expert, Engr. Bashir Ibrahim said the MoU is another drain pipe, as the other contracts have not been completed or closed out. He expressed concern over another cycle of contract awards with deceptive promises of two-year completion and restart, adding that it is better if the refineries are sold.

“It has been a drain pipe and will continue to be so except the umbilical cord is cut off,” he said.

‘Give NNPC the benefit of the doubt’

Oil and gas analyst, Dr. Marcel Okeke, said the NNPC should be given the benefit of the doubt this time around, saying the technical partners must be allowed to work.

“I want to believe that the Chinese companies are serious and reliable organisations. I also want to give the benefit of the doubt to the new leadership of the NNPCL. I want to believe that they are different from those of the past. So if what I have just said is correct, it means that repairing those refineries and then being run by these people is in order. Whether we call it partial privatisation or whether we call it leasing and giving it to these people to run is in order.”

He stated that political interference had stalled the operation of the refineries as they were not being run like business enterprises.

Okeke stated that the government must do everything possible for all its refineries to work to dismiss the fear of monopoly in the refinery business.

“It is not good to have Dangote as a monopoly, as many people are saying, and if we have other refineries that are being run, it would be good for us as a country.

Soldier assaults journalist over traffic dispute in Lagos

A journalist with TheCable, Olalekan Fakoyejo, has recounted how he was allegedly assaulted by a soldier following a disagreement linked to a traffic obstruction in the Ogba area of Lagos State.

Fakoyejo, who serves as Assistant Business Editor at the platform, narrated the incident in an interview on Monday, explaining that he was travelling in a tricycle from Ikeja to Ogba on Saturday when he encountered the soldiers managing traffic.

He said the situation unfolded around Pleasant Event Centre, off Ajao Road in Ikeja, where soldiers were controlling vehicular movement.

According to him, the confrontation began when a soldier stopped another tricycle rider and ordered him to disembark and climb onto the vehicle as punishment, an action he believed worsened the traffic situation.

“The soldier was trying to punish a tricycle driver on a different lane. He asked the driver to step out and climb on the roof of his tricycle. What he was doing was causing traffic, and I said this is causing traffic. I was on another tricycle on another lane, which was not far from where the other tricycle was.

“The soldier heard what I said, and he dragged me out of the tricycle. He started threatening me and ordered me to go meet his colleagues who were not close to the incident. I refused to go, telling him I did nothing wrong, and he doesn’t have the right to order me to go report myself to his colleagues.

“During the period, he kept pushing me backwards towards where he said his colleagues were, then one of his colleagues came to speak to me. As I was explaining to the colleague that walked up to us, the soldier that was threatening me just slapped me immediately. I turned my face towards him,” he said.

A report by TheCable indicated that a video recorded by an eyewitness showed the soldier repeatedly pushing the journalist and attempting to strike him with a cudgel picked from the ground.

The report added that Fakoyejo’s phone fell during the altercation, with the screen damaged after hitting the ground.

It further stated that bystanders eventually intervened, urging the journalist to leave the area to avoid further harm.

According to the account, two other soldiers later approached Fakoyejo as he was leaving and allegedly threatened to flog him, before onlookers appealed for calm.

As of the time of filing this report, efforts to obtain a response from the Nigerian Army spokesperson, Appolonia Anele, were unsuccessful, as she had yet to respond to enquiries.

Ignore Propagandists, NDC Was Properly Registered…Seriake Dickson

National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson, yesterday urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as propaganda surrounding the party’s registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The former Bayelsa State governor defended the legitimacy of the party’s registration, dismissing allegations of irregularities and insisting the process followed due procedure.

In a post on X, the senator representing Bayelsa West said NDC’s formation dated back to 2017, contrary to claims that it was recently registered without meeting legal requirements.

His remarks come amid threats by a promoter of the All Democratic Alliance, ADA, Dr. Umar Ardo, to challenge the registration of the NDC in court over alleged procedural breaches.

This happened on a day the party said it had registered 10 million members less than 48 hours after former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi; former governor of Kano State, Senator Musa Kwankwaso, and some African Democratic Congress, ADC, leaders joined it on Sunday evening.

The NDC held its state congresses yesterday and elected state executive committees as the ADC and the camp of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar denied alliance talks with it.

Dickson maintained that the NDC’s emergence was the product of a long-standing process, adding that documentation existed to support its claims.

“For the record, the annexures show that we initiated the registration process for the NDC as far back as 2017, and that INEC granted approval at that time before the process was halted. When party registration resumed last year, we revisited and updated our earlier application,” he said.

He noted that the party was conceived as an ideological platform designed to endure beyond its founders and contribute to national development.

“Our goal in the NDC is to build an ideological political party that can endure beyond its founders for generations to come,” Dickson said.

The former governor also said the party placed strong emphasis on youth and women participation, describing it as a platform focused on inclusion, mentorship and service.

He added that the NDC had continued to attract support across the country, driven by what he described as a convergence of experienced political actors with grassroots influence.

“What we are witnessing is a powerful convergence… leaders across the country coming together under one platform,” he said.

While acknowledging that political initiatives often attracted criticism, Dickson urged Nigerians to remain focused and not be distracted.

“With my experience in politics, I am fully aware that an ambitious project of this nature will attract distractions—rumours, gossip, propaganda and even blackmail. I therefore urge Nigerians to ignore such propaganda,” he said.

He called on Nigerians to join the party, register and participate in the political process.

Coup Plotters Admit Planning Coup Against Tinubu In Court

The federal government yesterday played video evidence in court to establish the botched plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s administration through a coup d’état.

In the video recordings tendered by the FG before the Federal High Court in Abuja, some of the defendants on trial for masterminding the alleged coup plot were seen explaining their level of involvement to investigators.

The defendants in the charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/206/2026, are retired Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana; retired Naval Captain Erasmus Ochegobia Victor; serving Police Inspector Ahmed Ibrahim; and three others, including Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Kashim Goni, and Abdulkadir Sani.

Former governor of Bayelsa State, who also served as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources under the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Timipre Sylva was also mentioned in the charge filed by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

The former governor is said to be at large after fleeing the country before the alleged coup plot was exposed.

The allegations against the defendants include treason, terrorism, failure to disclose security intelligence, and money laundering in furtherance of terrorist acts.

At the resumed proceedings on Monday, the prosecution played a video clip showing two of the defendants, retired Navy Captain Victor and Inspector Ibrahim (2nd and 3rd defendants), admitting that they were aware of the planned coup, while the 1st defendant, retired Maj. Gen. Gana, denied knowledge of the plot.

In the first part of the video, Maj. Gen. Gana said he retired from the Nigerian Army in 2010 as Chief of Defence Logistics and had since lived a quiet life.

Insisting he had never been involved in any act of indiscipline or crime, the 1st defendant told investigators that he knew the alleged coordinator of the plot, Colonel M. A. Ma’aji.

According to the retired Maj. Gen., he learnt that Ma’aji had issues with his promotion but did not know he was planning a coup, adding that if he had been aware, he would have reported it to the relevant authorities.

He noted that he was linked to the coup after investigators traced a N2 million transfer to him, even as he admitted sharing via WhatsApp a copy of a speech read by Joshua Dongayaro during an earlier coup in the country.

The defendant also admitted sharing, through the same means, messages containing anti-government rhetoric, but explained that he had only forwarded the materials as received and did not edit or originate them.

When investigators told him that the coup speech recovered from Colonel Ma’aji was tailored in line with the coup-related speeches he had forwarded, Maj. Gen. Gana (Rtd.) said he did not know.

He also denied allegations of conducting reconnaissance at the Presidential Villa or participating in efforts to raise funds, including claims of sourcing billions from a former governor.

The 2nd defendant, retired Captain Victor, admitted in the video to knowing Ma’aji and being aware of the plot to overthrow the government.

He said his failure to report the plot stemmed from his relationship with Ma’aji, explaining that Ma’aji had complained about his stalled promotion and “out of anger, said he wanted to overthrow the system.”

Victor said he advised against such an act and suggested that the officer consider retirement instead.

He also admitted that he was approached to provide financial support, assist in raising funds for the plot, or help acquire an apartment, with an assurance of being offered an appointment if the coup succeeded.

The retired Navy captain said he declined involvement in the plan, although he admitted continuing communication with the mastermind via a secure messaging platform.

The defendant confirmed that coded language was used in all discussions, though he claimed he was not part of any operational arrangement and never rendered the assistance requested by Ma’aji.

He regretted that his relationship with Ma’aji had clouded his judgment, leading to his failure to report the plot to security agencies like the Navy, to which he belonged.

In the video, the remorseful 2nd defendant pleaded for clemency, likening his situation to “being in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

He said: “I feel so bad that I find myself in this situation. I am pleading for clemency.”

He argued that if the government could grant amnesty to terrorists and bandits who had taken innocent lives and call them repentant, he should also be forgiven, given his years of meritorious service in the Navy.

Inspector Ibrahim, attached to the State House, told investigators he was initially approached to help facilitate Colonel Ma’aji’s promotion through contacts in government circles.

Ibrahim said discussions with Ma’aji later shifted from promotion matters to plans to overthrow the government.

He admitted receiving between N1.4 million and N1.5 million, and participating in reconnaissance around the Presidential Villa, including Aguda House.

He said he took photographs of parts of the Presidential Villa—including the President’s residence and surrounding terrain—and discussed possible access routes.

The inspector confirmed that coded terms such as “fertiliser” and “farming” referred to funding and the alleged operation.

However, he maintained that his involvement stemmed from misplaced judgment and that he was influenced by his relationship with the principal suspect.

Ibrahim said he merely played along with the alleged plotters because he knew it would be impossible for them to access the State House.

Earlier in the proceedings, defence lawyers challenged the admissibility of the video evidence, arguing that their clients had not made it voluntarily.

Their efforts to prevent the video from being played in open court were dismissed by trial Justice Joyce Abdulmalik.

The court noted that, in view of their contention, a trial-within-trial would be conducted to ascertain the voluntariness of the statements the defendants made to investigators.

Further hearing of the case was adjourned until Tuesday.

The FG alleged that the defendants, sometime in September 2025, conspired to levy war against the state to overawe President Tinubu—an offence punishable under Section 37(2) of the Criminal Code.

It was further alleged that the defendants had prior knowledge of a planned treasonable act involving Col. Ma’aji and others but failed to alert the appropriate authorities.

The FG stated that they rendered assistance to Colonel Ma’aji, as shown by their failure to disclose the coup plot to the President or a peace officer.

The defendants were also accused of failing to take preventive steps, having “not used any reasonable endeavours to prevent the commission of the offence.”

Other allegations centred on terrorism-related offences under the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.

The defendants were said to have conspired to commit an act of terrorism in Nigeria.

Upon their arraignment before the court on April 22, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the 13-count charge and were remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) pending determination of the case.

Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, created a record on Monday following his side’s Premier League 3-1 win against Chelsea on Monday.

The Nigerian international netted a brace against the Blues at Stamford Bridge to give his team all three points.

His teammate, Igor Jesus, also scored for the visitors against the hosts during the encounter.

However, Awoniyi’s early first strike in less than 2 minutes, is reported as one of the fastest Premier League away goals scored against Chelsea in recent seasons.

It also remains the quickest goal since December 2013, when Jay Rodriguez scored for Southampton after 13 seconds.

Awoniyi will now hope to lead Nottingham to victory when they clash with Aston Villa in the Europa League semi-final return leg on Thursday.

UCL: Two final spots up for grabs as Arsenal welcome Atletico, Bayern chase PSG

The Champions League semi-final return legs are set for Tuesday and Wednesday.

DAILY POST reports that only two of the remaining four teams – Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich – will secure their ticket to the final.

    Tuesday fixture:

    Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid

The kickoff for this game is 8 pm, and the venue is Emirates Stadium.

The first leg in Spain ended 1-1, so Arsenal, who are currently leading the Premier League table, need a strong home performance to get past Diego Simeone’s side.

The Gunners head to the game after beating Fulham 3-0 in the Premier League over the weekend, while Atletico Madrid won 2-0 against Valencia in the LaLiga.

    Wednesday fixture:

    Bayern Munich vs PSG

The kickoff for this game is 8 pm, and the venue is Allianz Arena.

The first leg in Paris ended 5-4 in favour of PSG, so the Parisians, who are currently leading the French Ligue 1 table, need to put in an outstanding display to get past Vincent Kompany’s side in Germany.

The Parisians head to the game after playing a 2-2 draw with Lorient in the Ligue 1 encounter on Saturday, while Bayern drew 3-3 with Heidenheim in the Bundesliga clash at home.

Speaking with DAILY POST ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg fixtures, Lagos-based journalist, Femi Fabunmi, backed both Arsenal and Bayern to progress to the final, citing home advantage.

“The first legs were crackers, especially in Paris, where both PSG and Bayern showed real attacking firepower,” Fabunmi said.

“Arsenal came away with a draw, which makes the Emirates Stadium return a must-watch.

“Bayern will have a cracker on their hands on Wednesday, but I think they will edge it at home.

“Arsenal’s situation is trickier, but home support should be enough to push them through to the final,” he said.

2027: Stay in your house if you can’t fight – Datti Baba-Ahmed slams Peter Obi

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party presidential running mate with Peter Obi in the 2023 election, has revealed the major problem he has with the former Anambra State governor.

In an interview released on X Monday, Baba-Ahmed told Peter Obi to stay away from the 2027 presidential election if he is not ready to fight.

He faulted Peter Obi’s exit from the Labour Party, noting that he would have remained to address the opposition party’s challenge.

According to him, the north may not rally behind Peter Obi and former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s presidential ticket as being touted by both politicians.

“As much as I dislike what the All Progressives Congress has done against Nigerians, someone who got the Labour Party’s ticket so easily should have stayed to fix the problem of the party no matter how difficult it is.
