Popular Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, better known as Blord, has finally been released from the Kuje Correctional Facility.

Blord was released after meeting his bail conditions on Monday evening.

This came 20 days after he was remanded for allegedly impersonating VeryDarkMan.

DAILY POST recalls that the entrepreneur was granted bail and was also ordered to deposit his international passport as part of his bail conditions on Friday.

However, he was returned to prison after his passport could not arrive in Abuja from Anambra State on time.

Announcing Blord’s release, popular human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, on Monday evening, appreciated the public for their support.

Sharing a video of his release on his Instagram page, Sowore wrote: “Linus Williams, also known as @mrblordofficial, is finally out of Kuje Prison, and that outcome is a reminder that collective action can yield results. No one should be abandoned to unjust detention. No one shall be left behind. THANK YOU, EVERYONE.”

Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State was on Monday thrown into turmoil following the invasion of the council secretariat by hoodlums, who attacked and stripped the council chairman, Tope Omolayo, after he resumed duty following the expiration of his six-month suspension.

With official activities disrupted during the invasion, workers ran in various directions as the armed hoodlums stormed the secretariat in large numbers.

The chairman was suspended about six months ago by the legislative council of the local government following political and administrative disagreements.

While narrating the incident, a source said the chairman had barely settled in when the attackers arrived and descended on him, beating him and tearing his clothes in the process.

“The moment he arrived, they attacked him. He was beaten and his clothes were torn. People ran in different directions as the situation worsened. It felt like a war zone. Everyone ran for cover,” the source said.

There were also claims from some witnesses that the attackers made references to authority from the Olowo of Owo during the confrontation, although this could not be independently verified.

However, an official from the palace, who spoke on condition of anonymity, denied any involvement of the traditional institution in the incident, urging that the palace should not be associated with the attack. No formal statement had been issued by the palace at the time of filing this report.

Some of the chairman’s supporters queried the legality of the suspension process, alleging irregularities in official communication and documentation.

Speaking on the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the command swiftly responded by deploying personnel to the secretariat to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

Haaland scored the winner as City beat the Gunners 2-1 on Sunday, to move within three points of the league leaders.

All through the game, the Norway striker battled with Gabriel, as they tried to outmuscle each other.

A standout incident came in the 84th minute, as both players squared up after a duel and Gabriel threw his forehead into Haaland’s face.

However, referee Anthony Taylor only showed a yellow card to both players.

A red card would have landed Gabriel a three-match ban, which means he would be unavailable to play Newcastle, Fulham and West Ham.

“I think Erling Haaland has kept Arsenal in the title race by not going down,” Sherwood said.

“If he goes down, he gets sent off, 100 per cent.

“Gabriel has been so good this season, him and Declan Rice have been the outstanding players for Arsenal, and to miss him for three games in the run-in, that would have been the end of their title race.”

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has warned registered members of the party seeking elective positions in the state to obtain the governor’s permission before purchasing nomination forms.

Chief Emegha gave the advice on Monday in Afikpo during the inauguration of the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone chapter of Grassroots Advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, GATFON.

He stated that any aspirant who purchases nomination forms without the governor’s directive will be wasting their effort and resources.

Emegha, who described Governor Nwifuru as a fair-minded leader, disclosed that he (the governor) is committed to ensuring justice and fairness in all constituencies of the state.

He therefore enjoined aspirants not to be carried away by social media hype and sponsored endorsements, stressing that the governor and the party would ensure that the right thing is done when the time comes.

“Let me use this opportunity to advise all of us, especially those seeking elective positions, to seek the governor’s counsel before going to purchase nomination forms, because anything outside the governor’s directive is a waste of resources.

“I feel I should give you this advice because very soon APC will start selling forms. Don’t buy any form without the Governor’s directive. Any money you pay to the party is non-refundable. I don’t want anyone to come to me saying, ‘Please help me recover my money.’ I advise you to wait for the Governor’s directive. He knows all of us, and he is committed to ensuring justice in all the constituencies,” he said.

Emegha commended GATFON for its resilience and commitment to promoting good governance, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru have done well for the people of the state and deserve to be re-elected for second terms in office.

He pledged to continue supporting the group to actualize its objectives.

Earlier, the Ebonyi State Coordinator of GATFON, Barr. Patrick Anayo Mbam, in his remarks, said the association was formed to promote the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and to mobilize the grassroots towards their re-election in 2027.

He charged the local government coordinators in the zone to take the re-election message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Nwifuru to all the wards in the zone.
